We build them all, we build what the customer wants and keep namany parts in stock. Do everythiung from smal block FIA type engine to 390 to 427 FE engines in all forms, It is hard to beat our experience with all of the parts and combinations. We know the pit falls and what will work and what will not. Have certain parts we will use because of this and some that we will not.
You would surprised at the people and engine builders that we have sold parts to. Helped Roush with his first stroker engine combinations as well as many other that sell you guys parts and engines on here.
No we are taking the 427 SOHC engine to new levels, it does not natter if yu have built an engine for 40 years if you do not see the potential in the new parts and technology. I would not want to go into space with 60 technology when I could use 2010 technology and machining. This why some of the guys need to come to our open house in March. It is a whole new process and machines that are used now. This is why you can get 600 to 750 reliable HP out of these engine now. The 500HP stuff is simple and easy to do for sure. Thanks and good luck.

Also been following your ERA FIA build. I could never go 2 years building a car as I'm such an impulse buyer but you are doing it right and looking forward to the finished product. I almost did another FIA as I have always liked them and sometimes wished I would of kept my Kirkham FIA...
Hey Dean,
Any videos of your Hurricane other than the startup? Know winter set in and sitting like mine right now. Hoping to get out on my first drive soon if the weather ever clears here in Dallas....

one benefit
of the two year build ...is you get to spread the cost of the time period..so it doesn't seem to be as painful ...the downside is you end up adding things that i would not have done originally because i was trying to keep the cost down...

god no
one ERA build per lifetime...unless you are Jim Holden and you keep a 1/2 dozen in different colors and flavors to drive depending on what side of the bed you woke up on

Now I got it
I think Jim must have (or has had) at least one each of everything, on the ERA menu ... he obviously has good taste

Couple of things
kgs365 Any chance of getting a frist name?? Anyway to pervent spider spots in the fender area, buy about 3-4 cans of under coating and spray enough coat to make it about 1/4". Somewhere on the road you will pickup a rock or something and the fender will get hit. It doesn't matter what color the car is. This will save the paint. If you didn't like the black color, they sell an auto shield that works the same why but is off clear in color.
You didn't say what the rearend ratios but guessing either a 3.07 or 3.31. The the torque your motor makes down bottom, you will be MORE than happy to drive it.
ERA builds great exhaust side pipes. I think their main interest is to allow you to drive, keep your hearing on the left side and talk to someone in the car. This takes a quiet system. I have used mine for 14 years of racing and 2 different motors. I now have a race pipes, louder and found the missing power I built in the motor. Cruising the pipes cost you 5-10 hp and torque, WOT you are in the 15-40 hp on the top end and about the same for torque.
If your motor was built with 427 main caps and side bolts, Nobody is going to know it's not a 427 but the machinist and you. You will have about the same power with lower compression and better drivibility and money in your pocket for gas.
It's getting very hard to find a good 427 block. The max over bore is .030" because of how they where forged, thin walls. Ponds sells a correct dated block in iron or aluminum if you are looking for the perfect correct look. Get a year or 2 under your belt of driving the car, goto some driving schools for handling, then goto a bigger nasty motor. By this time, gas could be $5.00 or more per gallon. So short sunday drives maybe all you can afford to do. No to worry someguy in the white house has a plan. Rick L.

Not necessary. We put Coremat in the fenders to prevent spidering. In 30 years, I've never seen it happen. Some people coat the inside, but it's mostly for the color. I'd probably coat the aluminum in the front wheelhouse to keep the noise down though.
