Neither choice is exactly ideal.

But, I measured a car in the shop with 225 Avons in the front. The tread width is just over 7" and looks OK. Adding almost 2" to the tread width might be a problem.

You'll just have to see how much flack you get from the guy who mounts the tire on the rim.
