Default Got both with the kit in 97

Lippy Got both to start with but didn't use the rear one until I switched to 17" wheels. I enjoyed the sliding of the car with the 15" wheels and finding the break loose point. As for handling on the street, I would use both. The track is a different thing. As said you can always remove them.
There is a question of are you going to stay on the street?? IF you go to tracks and auto cross events, the street setup is OK to a point. IMO the springs need to be of a higher rate and the ends on the sway bars need to be solid mounted to get the feel of the handling. I have raise mine about 30% in the front in rate for autocross and road racing. Some of this is due also to the wheel and tire change. I talked to some of the best here and the main issue with car setup is do you run a high spring rate and soft sway bars or run a soft spring rate and larger swap bars. For my driving on the track, I have found the ERA sway bars work great and just increase the spring rate to a point of having little to no roll of the car in a "1G" turn. Rick L.
