Default Top loader tail housing

Hi ,
Question to Bob . For the ERA FIA car, I plan to use a wide ratio 24” long ford top loader, what tail shaft side shifter position is correct ? I have access to all 3 shifter positions tail housings ? The era manual shows a bracket mounted on what I believe is the mid position, so is that bracket to make a mid position into a forward position? If so, can I just use a forward position tail housing and not worry ?
I’d like to prepare the transmission before the car arrives.
Thanks ,
Luke

I'm sure Bob can tell you more specifics as they apply to ERA's but CSX2345 for example, didn't use a top loader, rather a BW T-10. The shifter position for small block cars puts the shifter 16" back from the bellhousing, center line of the shifter in neutral. That may help you determine what housing or position is needed.
ERA might be different though depending on engine placement and interior aluminum.

I can't keep track of all the shifter variations. You'll have to ask Doug via phone.

Early GT350s used T10s, I believe with aluminum case. I think they switched to toploaders in late 66 or in 67.
