Default Coyote engine in an ERA

Has anyone put a Ford Coyote engine in an ERA? Where did you get the motor mounts, who did the work, and what challenges did you face, assuming someone has done this. Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge, it's not as simple a bolt in affair, at least it was not for the 4.6L DOHC that they put in a FIA (2031) many years ago. I was also told back then, while 2031 was under my ownership, that they would most likely never offer such a conversion again. I suspect that you'll need to find someone who can custom fabricate the motor mounts, as well as the modifications you'll need to make to the existing footboxes.

Anything can be done but I believe you are going to have to do some severe cutting into the fiberglass footwells to get that behemoth to fit. My guess would be all the fabrication to make it fit would have to be sourced on your end, I doubt ERA would be interested in trying to make the coyote fit.

Authenticity it sorta the staple of ERA and putting a coyote in their car would be a deviation from that. I think Backdraft and FFR are better candidates for that engine.

Only way to know is to talk to Peter though.

A few ERAs have been built with 427 SOHC motors which I would think are just as physically large as the Coyote motor but there may be some issues with the Coyote architecture that make it more complicated - oil pan configuration, filter mounting, height, etc.

We could justify installing the 427 SOHC engine. At least a few were put in the original cars by Shel hisself.
