Thanks for your info.
The pressure bounces because of the fuel consumption versus the pump operation, typical of many combos running mechanical pumps, and no pressure reg. Your little Holley dead-head reg will be fine for med horsepower.
Can you post some pics of your plumbing between pump and carb?
