TURK,

IT'S HARD TO FIND ANYONE AROUND HERE WHO IS NOT FLAKEY.

BTW - - I HAVE NEGOTIATED FOR FOUR BOTTLES OR RAKI FOR DVSF. I KNOW AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON IS BRINGING THREE MORE BOTTLES. CAN YOU BRING THE "HAZMAT" SIGNS ??

JIM - PLEASE PUT ME ON THE LIST FOR 2 EXTRA LARGE POLO SHIRTS, 2 EXTRA LARGE TEE SHIRTS, AND ANOTHER CAP. SOMEBODY ALREADY MADE OFF WITH MY CAP. INCIDENTLY THE WINDBREAKERS ARE GREAT. I'D LIKE TO PICK THEM UP AT DVSF.

WHEN YOU GET THEM DONE I'D LIKE FOUR OF THE WINDSHIELD BANNERS.

THANKS A LOT FOR TAKING ON THE PROJECT.

Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,

BLACKJACK

Folks:

I have spoken with my source for windshield decals. I've asked him for a quote on doing reverse (so the go on the inside of the glass) logos similar to the ERA Motorsport "checkered flag" logos on the jackets and polo shirts approx. 10" long x 2" high.

OK so far?

You are doing good.

TURK

How much would they charge if they were to make a pair extra that is about 5-6 ft long to install on car carriers?

HI, JIM,

"BIGGER IS BETTER" - - - "SIZE DOES MATTER" - - - ETC., ETC.

ANY SIZE YOU DECIDE TO GET IS FINE BY ME - HOWEVER - I'D VOTE FOR SOMETHING AT LEAST AS BIG AS FFR OR SUPERFORMANCE.

Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY,

BLACKJACK

Jim,

How much for a case of the stickers so I can stick one on every car i see in a parking lot?
The logo and size sounds great. I'm in for a couple once they are done

Jim,
Just a thought.
I took my ruler out and tried to visualize a 2 by 10 inch logo to stick on the windshields.

My opinion is that while that might be the right size for the back of the jackets, it seems very small for the windshields.
Others may feel differently. That is smaller than one of the visors.

For height I recommend minimum 3", if not 4". Thus making the overall length 15" or 20".

What do you guys think?

Folks:

The reason for the thought on the "understated" size is that, if the size is larger, if placed along the top edge of the widshield it would block your vision. When I sit in my car, my view is out the top portion of the windshield.

Too, (and this is my personal, one man's view) that understated is "classier"

After reading Turk's post i went upstairs where the windshield is in storage (living room) and got out the ruler. It seems that a 15"x3" logo would be just big enough. a 20x4 would be good too but might be a little too big. Somewhere in there would be perfect.

Jim,
Smaller is classier? Wait while I go trade my BB for a 351!!

I want to have class!

ps. When you are sitting behind a large decal, you are supposed to look through it. Not AT it. You'll go cross-eyed if you do.

Seriously, I agree with you that we don't want our windshieds to look like the Rice Burners wearing an "OAKLEY", or a "NO FEAR" decal, but if it is so small that only the driver can tell what it says, it IS too small.
I know it is an ERA, I wanted others to know. It is a pride thing..

Here is my nickels worth.....

I sat in my car and put various size letters on the windshield - top center.

If they are just the letters E R A, and done in the font that is shown earlier in this thread, I don't see why they can't be a little bigger - along the lines of SSSnakes recommendation of 15 X 3.

I also look out through the top edge of the windshield.

Turk:

Well then there you go!

I've done the bigger thing. As they say been there done that. A couple of times in fact.

That's why it's a 331 Gurney Weslake motorvated thing now.

I just don't think one has to scream at the world to let them know what you have. If the car doesn't attract the attention of those who should know then maybe we don't want people to know that it is an ERA, and as to the rest? ... screw the rest of them (or something like that).

Oooooh,
We are copping and attitude, are we?

By the way thanks for taking on the decal thing on, we don't want to get you ticked off so you say and heck with it!
Thanks for doing it. I tried white shoe polish.....not enough class!

TURK
ps. I agree if it is not that difficult to see through a few letters.

I guess you would discourage me from that wrapping process they use on buses nowadays.

Ya know Jimmy, its an East coast v Left coast thing. Us easterners are considered somewhat uptight, thus understated and reserved is our thing. Those "other" guys can't seem to get enough of themselves and have to broadcast everything all over. I say, once the lettering design is digital, make up two sizes. East Coast 2x10 in a nice off-white, and 5x20 in a simple dayglo chartreuse, or maybe a nice electric multicolored mirror finish.

Of course, maybe some 12" letters on the nose like I did at NHIS would satisfy them.

Cheeks.

Are there any jackets/shirts in New Britski that I can look at. I could use a neat jacket, and maybe some lettering for the trailer too.

Understated.
Very modest of you fellow!
Got to love them Easterners, always low key, sedate and reserved. Yes, they ARE.

I remeber spending a little time in the City and NJ. Gold worn around the necks with three button open silk shirts to match the two layers of gold bracelets glittering against the hood of a Black Towne cars is real low key.??

Where can we get some of those glow in the dark plastic necklaces so we can spell out ERA on our own, because this decal thing is running into some political snag.

Having had to put ProSolo winshield graphics on various cars that I've run at such events, I would suggest a couple of things for you ERA fanatics:

-Make the letters fat so they lay down well.
-Just in case you use your wipers--keep them out of the sweep area.
-Put some RainEx on them so the bugs come off easy.

Then again, none of my dam* beness!

Wipers? We are supposed to turn them on?
It is easy for those who have the tops for their cars.

Jim, that is why we need the inside application decals, in case rain and snow requires wipers being on.

Turk

Again, aside from it being none of my dam* beness...

Despite the lack of tint along the top, SCCA experimented with that--and they simply don't show up as well through the glass.

How big they gonna be with just three letters anyway--I'd say the top center with three inch letters would be perfect, and they won't hamper your vision.

I'll go crawl back in my hole now...
