Hey, Little Cobra: The ERA registry idea is a darn good one.

Those of you that think we should have an ERA get together is also a good idea. Let me put this out and see if enough of you think it is worth pursuing. I am an member of the New England chapter of the Viper Club of America. The Viper club puts on some pretty good events. Maybe we could piggyback onto one of their events for a get together. I'm pretty sure the NE Viper club wouldn't have any objections considering that Carroll Shelby had some input with the Vipers development. And I can personally attest to the fact that Viper owners really like Cobras. Lots of times the New England Viper club gets together with the NJ and NY clubs. If something can be put together for early October maybe some of you Southern folks wouldn't mind coming up here to experience some Northern hospitality and do some leaf peeping too. Nothing like our winding roads on a gorgeous fall weekend. The NE Viper club has a great weekend every year in Laconia, New Hanpshire in October so that's a possibility.

Whaddaya all think? Is it worth following up on? Mike

Last time I ordered something the order got lost in the shuffle.... All got worked out and I was up and running in no time. I'm thinking Fernando is no longer at ERA. (if I remember correctly, he left after taking my order, and consequently the 'lost' order?? hmm, I could be remembering incorrectly-- although I never get anything wrong)
The Dallas group had a nice gathering yesterday. We used to have 4 ERA's pretty regular; I seem to be the main one these days. Matt sold his beautiful black one a few months ago, and Don? has a dark green one. Oh, and Tom M. just sold his a few weeks ago. I wonder if a registry would work with such a potential for frequent ownership changes?
I know that ERA takes the chassis number of the owner when you order, and that they only sell to ERA owners, I wonder though if they have good, organized lists. I doubt it, but I don't mean anything offensive by that- just an observation. More the 'old style' shop, write things down on the back of the lunch sack!

How many are there?? Around 1000??

Actually, They have a very good filing system for all of their cars by serial #. All transactions, orders and updates get recorded in its own file and put into a filing cabinet. I stop by the shop after work every now and then to see Peter and Doug. They always make me feel like family

Default Era

I have been the proud owner of two of ERA's finest, I owned #002 for a number of years and I just purchased #115 a few weeks ago. I haven't had the opportunity to drive it yet except in my driveway and a couple of hundred yards on the road in front of my place but I'm hoping the weather will be good to me this week and I can get it registered and take it out for a long drive. It would be great if we could get a bunch of ERA owners to bring their cars to the London Ohio cobra show in june. I know I'll be there. I tried to upload a pic of the new car here but it's too big, you can check out my gallery if you like.

Default it looks nice, Doug

About what year was your new one manufactured?? 1980-5?

I'm glad to hear they have a file on the cars. Gary (who I bought my car from) told me to be sure they knew I had bought #291.

I'm not sure if I'm going to London this June. I went last year and had a great time, but was thinking of making it every other, or every few years. Hard to do it all. (I go to Tulsa/mid-america in June, too)

I would be more inclined to go to London, though, if I thought we were forming a 'charter reunion' group for ERA.

Hey, thanks! How did you get the pic downsized enough to load on here? #115 according to my paperwork was sold in 1984 to the original owner and finished/titled for the first time in 1986.

ERA234 was assembled in 1989 or 1990 I believe.

I would like a ERA registry like the Shelby American Registry and some ERA merchandise (Jackets, Decalls, etc.) would be nice

I am proud to be the owner of the second 427 that ERA produced.

I have #003. Going through an on again/off again upgrade and freshening project.

They are great cars, I own ERA EXP004 and Dick and I had the 002 and 004 cars on the track at Fernley for the WSCB last month. I think the fact that these two old honeys are still not only road worthy but track worthy speaks volumes about the quality of the line! Cheers, Pete C

Eralier in this thread I had referred to mine as 159, edited those posts to reflect the actual number, 154. Delivered in 1984 and first titled in Texas in 1986.
