Bob-- Please help
Hi Bob,
I spoke with Peter today after you left work about shipping me a clutch slave cylinder setup.
I supplied my car builder a complete 351/408W set up with a 15-200 Lakewood shield with a top loader (small spline) a Ford #7515-2A fork all set up ready to drop in the car.
Easy right?
He has informed me it is impossible to set up a slave cylinder to operate the clutch. The angle of the dangle does not correspond with the protracted radius of the hoojit!
IDIOT!!!!!!!
As I live several hours away from his shop it is difficult to go there & sort him out, that is why I need your help (sob,sob)
As he is three months behind schedule already I don't need to give him any excuses to hold things up.
Could you possibly send me a photo or two of your setup that I have ordered mounted on a assembly that I could show this @##$%@&*%# IDIOT.

I had a similar, if not the same problem during the build of my cobra recently. The clutch fork angle did not work with the Lakewood and Tremec tranny as it had with McLeods on numerous previous builds (McLeods were unavailable - possibly still are). The solution my shop came up with was to machine away a small part of the bell housing and use a slightly different TO bearing. Works like a charm.

I'm not sure I understand your whole post but, not to be obvious, the installation requires a MASTER pressurizing a SLAVE cylinder. Maybe your guy means there's no master?
On ERA's, the master mounts to a chassis bracket, and the slave mounts to a bracket on your block. The master is fed by the brake reservior and then braided line from master to slave . The slave actuates the adjusting rod which moves the fork.
Go to ERA's manual on their site if you don't have a manual.

Your in luck. I happen to have my ERA up on jackstands repairing a speedometer gear. I took a couple of pictures for you. I'm uploading them to my gallery now.

I'm assuming you have an ERA-FIA (408 Windsor)?
CJ428's- 427 car is slightly different in the cylinder mounts-but the idea is the same.

I know exactly how it's supposed to work, but this idiot I hired to build the car says it's impossible to get a slave to work or mounted on my application---refer to my first post.
Like I said--- I think I'm in trouble.
If I was 20 yrs younger I would be building this car myself, but at 63yrs my knees just won't allow it anymore. I have built many performance cars over the years & know how easy all this stuff is but this guy constantly seems to hit roadblocks. Iwould just like a few photos to send him.

Great photo's, I see you have a 428 B/B. I have a 408W with a top loader so I assume I would require something a little different.

That combination should work fine. Don't forget to trim the bottom flange of the bell housing as per the manual.

I know from personal experience. I called Bob on several occasions for advise and help and every time the solution was always in the manual, send this guy a manual, and these photos. I can send you lots of photos of my ERA build just send me a pm
