Default ERA Wiring Harness Troubles

Hi Bob,

The new wiring harness is installed. As you know I had trouble with the white wire main harness connector (blue plastic plug in) where the two ends plug into together under the dash. No amount of "tweaking" has corrected the problem. Now I also am having trouble with the yellow wire (red plastic plug in). Neither are making a good conection. I have separated all four of the connectors, as previoulsy suggested, and this has not helped. New suggestions?

I have a new alternator and regulator. NOT charging. I took the alternator back and had it tested, it's good. I checked for good grounding at several places, including the regulator, grounds are good, fuses are good. Is it possible the white or yellow MAIN wires are causing the "no charge" condition?

What wires do I "jump" at the alternator or regulater to produce "full charge" from the alternator (for in car testing purposes)?

See the alternator troubleshooting section in this guide.

Well I'll be!!!

Turns out it was a bad "ignition warning light" bulb. I saw on your diagram where an optional 15 ohm resistor can be installed paralell with the light. It appears that this circuit is required to "energize" the regulator. I suspect the optional resistor engergizes the regulator if the warning bulb is bad?

I'm soldering the blue and red connector terminals (white and yellow wires) under the dash, to much trouble trying to get them to make a consistent solid connection.
