				 ERA Pizza Run this Sunday
 Folks:
This Sunday 7/10/05, if you're in the Hartford area, come on down to Randy's Wooster Street Pizza (860)276-8600, located at 777 Queen Street just north of the Queen Street exit off of I84 in Southington for breakfast and then a cruise up to another Randy's Wooster Street Pizza in Manchester. Weather permiting, we're going to get the ERAs off the trailers and out of the barns for the event. Start time is 10:00 am. Lunch, t-shirts and a model die cast Cobra for those who show up in their "full size models" and make the trek to Manchester.

 See ya there.

 Jim

 Hey that sounds like fun!
#375 will be there if the weather holds... she is never on a trailer... but coming out of the barn.

Is Queen Streen also known as RT 10 and the #30 exit off of I84?
Pretty much on the Southington / Bristol line?

I'll need to check with the wife and see if she will let me be awol for the morning and early afternoon.
Are you interested in going up?

My plan would be to go up and join in on whatever Jim has planned. My route home will probably take me over to Fairfild Ct. for the rest of the day. Back to NJ later that evening.

Unfortunately, I can't make it this weekend. I would love to get an ERA t-shirt. Do they actually exist?

Jim:Put this thread under "Local Clubs" and then "New England Cobra Enthusiasts". You have a better shot at hitting your target owners.

 Folks:
In a response (and not necessarily coherent at that) to various comments above:

If ERA owners aren't checking out what "Strictly" has to say from time to time, then forgettaboutit. I ain't going anywhere else.

We have ordered ERA golf-type shirts. This year's color is a shade of blue. They should arrive in a week or so (ERA time). We'll let you know how much they cost when we know how much they cost etc. etc.

We are discussing hosting an ERA gathering for the faithful at the Vintage Races at Lime Rock Labor day weekend (provided "Pepi" Pete Portante lives that long). More "just in time info" about the weekend as we think/make it up.

Don't let your wife make decisions for you. (Reminds me of the story of the couple happily married for twenty five years, who were asked the reason for their nuptial success. The husband responded that when they got married they agreed that the wife would make all the small decisions and he would make the large ones. The husband was then asked what large decisions he had made in twenty-five years. He responded that, interestingly, in twenty five years he had never had to make any major decisions. I would add that in 31 years of marriage, I have never been called upon to make a mjor decision either).)

Jim:The Lyme Rock Vintage Races, especially the Sunday car show is the appropriate venue for the ERA clan to gather. I am all for that. Last year we had perhaps about 10 ERA's there, one was even for sale.

Count me in for that event and if you need any co-ordination help let me know. That event is usually the first Sunday in September so hold that date ya'll.

All the Cobra's park on the infield at track side. See my photo gallery for last year's pictures. (Click on the camera icon near my name on the left)

Anyone who shows up in a Cobra replica is (so I understand) to get one of the die cast "Cobras"
...and this event is open to any Cobra replica, the more the merrier. The only restriction is that you must enjoy what you have and want to hang out for awhile with some fellow motor-maniacs.

 | Well Bill...
Apizza (pronounced Ahh-Peezza) here in CT has its Mecca or nexus in the greater New Haven area with Pepe's, Sally's and Modern being at the core (with Zupardi's in West Haven right up there but with gas fired ovens). Each have their own style and each have the large and old wood fired ovens with peel sticks being perhaps 12 feet long.

There are some other good Apizza joints in CT, and since I work in Bristol, I have been to Paradise, so I know their pie. It is good Apizza. And to those who live in Arid-Zona it would be certainly classified as Very Good to Excellent Apizza. (as you are Apizza deprived out there IMHO, and you also have no really good deli's either).

One of the good things CT has going for it is the local, non-chain apizza shops and bakeries all run by Italian folks who know how to make a crust. Chicago and Philly are very similar but with different crust.
