? about Jag rear
The manual list the following years for the jag rear assembly, '64-74 XKE Series 1 and 2, and '65-87 xj6.
Is that truly the only years for the rear that you can use or is it more broad than that?

Never mind, just reading throught the threads and see that any inboard brake jag rear will work .

You do want to try and find one with limited slip. Open rears can be converted, but there is an obvious expense in doing so.

External markings on the differential back cover are not reliable. The best way to check is the standard "turn one axle while holding the other" method.

usually thre is a tag or marking on the back of the housing with "PL", for PowerLock

If you get one from an XJS it'll be a posi rear, either 3.08 or 3.31.
