I do like the look of Torq-Thrusts with the bill-boards! That's sweet.

Wow ... those are some wide rims and huge tires ... no wonder they look so good!

Jeff,
Thanks for the link to Roger Kraus Racing ... the technical sheets with old and new tire dimensions are really useful.

To all that have contributed to this thread ... thanks for the information and photos! I was not aware that there are a number of cars out there with these wheels. I would imagine that the vintage TTD wheels are hard to find and a bit pricey. Anyone else have any photos of Cobras with Torque Thrust D wheels??? Thanks.

And a bit brittle, most likely. There was an article in the Shelby American magazine a few years ago describing the potential perils of driving hard on 40 year old magnesium wheels. I believe it was aimed at me--I had just spent a considerable amount of track time in CSX 2401 with these originals and I took the advice to heart and retired the wheels to street use only. I do like the way they look and they are lighter than the wire wheels. The originals are very hard to find. I would go for a new set in aluminum if I were in the market for them right now.

Jim,
Advice well taken. I'll most likely opt for bolt on and go with new Torque Thrust D aluminum wheels. The knock off spinners are very cool, but I'll put the money that I save into the upgraded ERA rear suspension and a few other goodies that are hard to change down the road. And I am OK with bolt on wheels. Thanks.
