If you're going for aluminum, my thought is that you're going for lightweight....so you should go for the lightest piece. I sell Fidanza, RAM, and McLeod flywheels, and the Fidanza is a very nice wheel.
Both flywheels that you mentioned have multiple pressure plate patterns on them, so they will work with any clutch application.
I can beat both prices that you mentioned. I use the Fidanza quite a bit, even on my own FE stuff.
With the McLeod, you're paying for their name. I have almost stopped selling McLeod stuff because of the pricing.
(And yes, both have steel inserts. You have to have a steel friction surface, or the disc would wear right through the aluminum.)
