Default AL Flywheels ?

Which is better?

Fidanza 186541 for $390
14lbs.

Mcleod 563210 for $576
18lbs.

Why is Mcleod so expensive? What is the difference?

Thanks.

does the fidanza have a steel insert? i take it does. maybe thickness make a difference or material or maybe if it's made out of USA, might be cheaper. hate to say that but thats just what this country has come to. but thats a different story.

If you're going for aluminum, my thought is that you're going for lightweight....so you should go for the lightest piece. I sell Fidanza, RAM, and McLeod flywheels, and the Fidanza is a very nice wheel.

Both flywheels that you mentioned have multiple pressure plate patterns on them, so they will work with any clutch application.

I can beat both prices that you mentioned. I use the Fidanza quite a bit, even on my own FE stuff.

With the McLeod, you're paying for their name. I have almost stopped selling McLeod stuff because of the pricing.

(And yes, both have steel inserts. You have to have a steel friction surface, or the disc would wear right through the aluminum.)

Looks like Tilton has everything that you need. I'd go with one of their 104T flywheels that's setup for one of their 7.25" twin disc button clutch kits. They have aluminum/magnesium bellhousings for Chevy applications as well.

Want pricing?

Fidanza flywheels are manufactured in Perry Ohio, the next town over from me. Been there, bought the wheel. Nice folks. They also make the flywheels for Zoom, from what I understand.

With the Club Cobra discount, the Fidanza 186541 would be $359 + shipping.
