In the age of power adders, those numbers are excellent considering N/A.
Nice work Barry!
Now what could I put one of those in?????

Barry,
When I win the lottery, I'm gonna ask you to build me one! Who knows what I'll put it in! Maybe a '64 F100 SWB, lowered, with patina........then watch their face when I pop the hood..................
Awesome!! Nothing, absolutely nothing, can match the looks of a SOHC!
FE's forever!!
And, Barry, you took the high road on your "who cares" response. Way to go!!

It was a joke sweetheart. A joke. Geeez. And I'm so glad your trans pack costs more than my little inexpensive Factory Five. And you own a Kirkham too. Wow, I'm really impressed.

Like I said, $50,000 or $40,000 for a motor, I have a bridge to sell everyone, ask Kieth Craft how many of these motors he has sold at that price. And his runs on pump fuel, Im not an expert but Barrys motor is 11.5 compression if its not pump gas it bring that number down 100 hp like Kieths motor, fair is fair. Now the sbf does'nt look so bad. I like all the engines, my point is not for me. Too heavy, too big, too much.

To each his own but lets be real - no one opens up the hood of a cobra and says" Wow I wish it had a modern fuel injected motor from a mustang" but EVERYONE that knows and loves fords and cobras will drool over a SOHC motor. The price tag doesn't matter at all. My Roush 511 costs more money than the SOHC does but the SOHC will still get more attention. I just am jealous that no one was making them when I was having my car built.
This is no differnt than the small block versus big block debate or the whose $(*$^($* is bigger than the other one. In the end if you were to take a poll Ford Guy, you would lose

Another reason Roush motors are a joke, too much money for what you get. To each is own. By the way there are many guys out there with the modern motor in it and people drool when they see it, trust me.

By a huge margin. After the seemingly mandatory "Is it real?" question the very next one that I usually get is "Is it a big block?" I haven't yet been asked "Is it a super-cool-modern-wizz-bang-double-cam-fuel-injected-coil-on-plug-computer-controled-super-turbo-charged-intercooled-noodle-monster-puppy-small-block?" Now that very well may happen, just not yet.

Ford Racing I agree that Roush motors are too much for what you get but I cant do anything about my naiveness 3 years ago. I have learned a lot since then. On the other hand it also doesnt mean I have to believe there will be too many people at a cobra show that will be impressed by a mustang motor in a cobra. Supercharge a 5.4 and fit it in a cobra maybe but a regular 5 liter...no

Fordracing65, whatever your negative feelings about Barry's work of art, why are you "whizzing" all over someone's thread? Especially when that someone has given alot back to our hobby.
Why? Does it make you feel better about yourself and your car?
In Internet slang, a "troll" is someone who posts inflammatory messages in an online community with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response. This sounds a little like what you're doing.
BTW, "Kieth" is actually spelled Keith.

Let me remind you of this tiny thread from a few months back:

Nuff said. And this car didn't even have Barry's SOHC engine.

Thats not your fault, thats Anthem Motors fault, John Panfill in general. If you got it there sorry.

As a builder, I appreciate the work and parts put into an engine like that. Makes a ton of power and has the vintage appearance. Nice little mill, Rabotnick.

Thanks brother. It's been a fun package to stick together. About as far from stock specs as can be while maintaining the original vibe.
The small block guy is amusing. Obviously compensating. And has no clue as to how easy it is to find a couple hundred hosepower in an N/A application....

As for the overweight, unraceable FE engine lovers out there.

Nice job Barry! Great looking engine and fantastic numbers.
FordRacing-
You have a Kirkham. There are a lot of new production cars that offer the same or better performance than a Kirkham and do it for a lot less money than a Kirkham, and you can even get them with a mp3 player, air conditioning, gps and a cup holder. Given your reaction to this thread, I am surprised you didn't buy a new Z06 or GT500 instead of the Kirkham. Why would you spend all that money on the Kirkham when you can get more for less?
