Remote oil filter install with bracket and adapter from Finishline. Nice parts! Had to ream the bracket holes and put a notch on the pump to get it to fit together nicely:

Robbmc starter is really nice. Checked pinion clearance and all is good.

Bernica 07-24-2016 01:19 PM

Can you mount the coil on the inner fender instead of on the engine? Just a thought...
Nice build!

ScratchBuilder 07-24-2016 02:13 PM

Hi Bernica,

I was going somewhat for an original type look w the yellow top n thought the coils were mounted on the head. Fender is probably a cooler option:)

I would have to agree with you, great starter.
Things are looking nice there with the engine build:cool:

Mount on intake, then you can use the canister fuel filter and bracket, attached to the head, for original looking aspect.

If you mount the coil on the intake, you should consider using an epoxy filled coil versus an oil filled coil. The epoxy can take the vibration better and oil filled coils don't do as well when they are mounted horizontally.

An oil fill coil has an air bubble in them. Laying them on their side exposes the wire coil and "could" cause them the burn up. I would say 70% or better burn up if laid on their side. I think the size of the air bubble is the problem.
