Default 427 Aluminum Block Prices

Did anyone notice the new prices for 427 blocks?

Shelby is now $6995.

Pond is now $5695.

BBM is still at $4495.

Side oiler Garage is $4600.

Where is BBM manufactured?
If China or Korea, it could be expensive in relation to the others.

You are forgetting side oiler.

If you're looking for a pond, I can do a bit better than that price.

Thanks, but I am good. Just amazed at the magnitude of the recent price increases.

Amazing. I paid about $5K for my CSX block back in 2007/2008.

Given current prices of parts and Kirkham rollers, I don't know if I would build the same car today.

I'd probably use the money as a down payment on one of those Lightweight E-type Jag replicas being produced by Jaguar.

A new Kirkham with a few options and a aluminum FE, has got to be $150 thousand.

This whole hobby has become ridiculously expensive. I just can't see the next generation pissing away six figures on these stupid cars. They're not even real. If you look at the prices for used CSX/KMS/ERA cars on Cobra Country it's absolutely nuts.

The only price increase I see is the pond block, your Shelby block at that price was 8 years ago, seems like with the new blocks at a lower price instead of Shelby or pond, buy a BBM or Side Oiler...

So, I take it that you won't be "investing" any new money in a color change for your ERA?

"They're not even real." Shhh. Hopefully Evan won't read this thread.

My block and water pump are real Shelby's. That is about it though. I do love the engine. If I could only figure out how to post a video of it idling!

I have a 1964 427 FE dual quad Engine for sale with boat. $10,000 takes it. The basic price is for the engine you just get the boat and trailer for free. Everything works great.
Engine runs perfect. All original with the acceptation of MSD ignition and Alternator. The boat is 1964 Sanger flat bottom V drive. Any thoughts?

Hmmm, my alternator and starter motor are genuine FOMOCO parts, rebuilt by God-knows-who. And the timing cover up front is original, as is the block. Other than that, everything else is after-market, both inside the engine and out. Those are the only "original" parts on the car -- I guess you could call them real. Ehhh, I don't know -- there's a lot of expensive crap on that car, I'd hate to say it's all fake.
