Cobra Make, Engine: Kirkham 427SC Stack injected side oiler

Default 427 Side oiler strange hole in deck
I just pulled the motor from my Kirkham 427 due to a significant oil leak. It was coming from the head gasket area at the rear passenger side corner. Block code is C5AE-H.

When I pulled the heads, this is what I found. The mystery holes had been filled with some kind of sealant by the engine builder.

What are these holes?
