This motor is held in high regard by collectors of antique high performance engines. Sort of todays flathead, was a big power maker in it's day but has been surpassed by todays high tech small blocks. A few diehards still race them but mostly can be found in show cars and street cruisers.
Have read where FE also stands for Ford/Edsel but you don't hear of many guys bragging about their Edsel powered Cobra.
