Just to weight in here on a previously mentioned item. IMHO, you should seriously consider adding a new oil cooler to that list of parts you ordered. I think I would listen very carefully to Mr Fixit and Ron61 on this; there's too many little nooks and crannies in the oil cooler which will trap and hold any debris for future release into your oil system at the most inappropriate time. I realize it's another couple of hundred bucks on top of an already unplanned expenditure, but I think I'd be a bit worried that some of the debris bypassed or passed through the paper filter element during the parts disintegration. A new cooler may not actually be necessary, but it's cheap insurance against future problems. FWIW, my $0.02 here. Hope it works out well, whatever your decision.

Venon S

I am looking for a good set of roller rockers for a 427 Center oiler with low riser heads. What brand are you ordering? Any recomendations?

So sorry to hear of the fubar.
Thanks for posting so well. I really learn a lot from what others end up going thru. In this case...I learned to have it done by a pro. I don,t have the experiance to do this on my own!

cobra427mnsi :

I know you didn't ask me but I run Erson's rockers in my Side Oiler and they have been great. Shelby used to have stainless steel units made by Garys Rockers or Fe Rockers? it can be found on this site by searching under headers like those. He made them for Shelby and sells the same thing without the Shelby logo of course. They run @$800 a set and would be worth every penny. Best of luck!

The pushrods were a MAJOR factor.... .100 too long. Sorry to hear about your problems, and best of luck in future.

Thanks for responding. I talked to Gary of FE Max (or whatever it is called). He said that he had one set of stainless rockers left and that he would make them up for me. Two weeks past and I called him again and he said his CNC guy was having some tech problems and it might be a while yet. (I don't know what happened to the set he had left). I think I would like the stainless ones (stronger) better than the billet aluminum ones. Gary told me that Erson was no longer in business.

When I bought the high volume oil pump from Precision Oil Pumps, Doug mentioned that he assembled and sold roller rockers, but at the time, I had not heard of anyone using his so I was a little leary of them. Now I read on this thread that Doug's rockers are nice. Maybe I should have ordered a set of his. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
