Right, the Shelbys are a far better block (dual crossbolts, better oiling system, three ribs across valley like a Donovan, improved durability, etc). But for restoration guys who simply want old fashioned tech, the Genesis may appeal, once it becomes up to the same standards and quality as the original sideoiler.

JBAIRD,

Do the Genesis blocks have Ford casting numbers in them? For example, does it have C5AE cast into it? Here in Nevada, smog requirements are based on the year of the block, and if these have 1965 numbers cast in them, it could make things real simple for us. Thank you.

How in the hell could there be smog requirements in Navada???, is it not sparsely populated and open as far as you can see?, I'm perplexed??. Unless the winds are bringing it in from Kalifornia???.....
I live about 30 mi. south of Atl and we have smog inspections, 5 mi. down the road is another county with no smog inspections...pure BS..
