Which Head??
Joea Hi Joe I have the shelby motor and went with the Shelby heads too. His heads where out before the Eledbrocks where out on the market. From the "PRO" engine builders I talked to the Edelbrock will put up the same flow numbers as the Shelbys with some port work and 2.19 valves. You will still need to have the Shelbys to get ported or CNC anyway. I payed 2,500 $ for the heads and 350.00$ to have them CNC. A nice job was done but still had to port match them to the intake. With either head you cann't go wrong but, you will save about 1,000$ with the edelbrock heads over Shel's. I think the new heads are better on the exhaust side and closer to a 75% of the intake flow. I have seen a couple of the Shelby heads have the exhaust ports cut off and a larger port plate installed. How crazy do you want to GO?? Same motor with both heads stock out of the box maybe a 10 hp differents at 5500 rpm. Porting, matching, blending and the right intake, cam and headers make the WHOLE thing work together. Rick Lake
