Default 8V Intake Manifold Info

I need information on the following FE intake manifold. It seems to be a low riser dual carb! C7ZX-9425-A. Any help welcomed.

Thank you

I've looked through 2 reference books with no luck. The "X" might mean experimental. I have a C8AX and it was a tunnel wedge experimental designation.

Well the C7 gives it a 67 date code. I don't think it would be a lowriser with a 67 date code. Paul is on track with the X. Can you post a picture? G.

Default C7ZX Manifold

My memory could be wrong, but the number sounds an awful lot like the 2 by 4 intake standard on the 67 Shelby's. I will try to check when I go home (if I can remember where my manifold is). If it is what I suspect, it really is a medium riser intake, and was the basis for the excellent Blue Thunder 2 by 4 dual plane.

GFUJI is correct. It is a 1967 Shelby GT500 dual quad manifold.
It is also considered a medium riser. I've been running this intake on my 427SC replica for the past three years. It is an extremely good performer. Great bottom end and it pulls hard through 6000+ RPM. It is a real impressive and fine looking piece. When you undo the latches and raise the bonnet you get the "Wow" factor. Click on the camera icon and check out my engine in the photo gallery.

They are a bit pricey but if you can locate one grab it.

Default Decoding your part number.

According to my old Ford manual the C7ZX-A deciphers as follows.
C7 = 1967
Z = Mustang
X = Original Muscle Parts program
A = First or original version.

If the lowriser's were sold over the counter there is a chance it could be a 67 lowriser. They changed to the medriser in 65 or 66 production I believe. If it was not sold by Ford as an aftermarket item I still say it's a medriser. Either way a nice mainifold.
