Default Superformance install progresss

Making some progress on my install, everything is going smoothly (although not as fast as I'd like because of work, family, and all...). Thought I'd share some pictures that I took today - first day safely above freezing in awhile so I thought I'd push it outside and wash some of the project dust off of it:

Several more in my gallery.

Looks good! Wash off some of the dust and put that FE stump-puller of a motor in that thing and watch out...

Thanks for the encouragement, Hyde. I know I'm going to really be impatient when the weather gets nice. My goal is to be done by April, one Saturday at a time!

Joe,

Take your time and do it right as you will be much happier when you are finished. I have done several SPF installs myself.

See my pics of # 1543 (Black with Gold Stripes) I finished in the fall......Gallery!

Gary,

You've got a nice SPF. Yes, I'm taking my time. I've committed that every nut, bolt, washer, etc will either be plated, coated, or painted so that usually means one trip to the store to get what I think I'll need, heading out to the garage to get started, another trip back to get what I really needed....that blows a Saturday real fast!

Nantucket,

See my gallery for pictures of motor. It is a 428, has edelbrock aluminum heads, intake, waterpump, Aviaid pan, etc, most of which is powder coated silver with a clear coat. Cam is a comp cams solid lifter. Rocker setup is Erson. Heads have had a stage 1 port job. Oil pump by Precision Pumps. Will have MSD ignition and Holley 750 carb, yet to be installed. Has aluminum flywheel and a blowproof bellhousing. Rotating assembly was all balanced. Ie, should have plenty of power!

Nantucket,

The Performer RPM has an embossment behind the carburetor to put a PCV in. I drilled a hole in that embossment the same size as the one in the valve covers and am going to use a regular valve cover grommet and PCV in that back manifold location. Right now, there's just a piece of masking tape covering the hole until I hook all of that up. I've seen different things done, including putting a breather in that location. I thought this would look cleaner because the hose from the PCV would just come up to the back of my carb instead of laying across one of the valve covers.

Joe,

Great engine choice and components selection.

Mark my words, you are absolutely going to fall in Love with the type of sounds and tone that FE is going to produce through those sidepipes!
