Not true with really light cars like Cobras. I've yet to read a post here from anyone who does not like their aluminum flywheel and there's a thread about this topic every month or so. I remember the last thread (maybe it was during the "old server" period) I wrote about how much fun it is to "blip" your throttle with an aluminum flywheel and make the engine sound like a bomb going off.
