Since (as far as I know) all FEs, 352 through the mighty SOHC, had the same exterior block size, how would changing one block for another cause your headers not to fit? Or do you mean different heads?

I think they didn't remove the sidepipes from the headers. This would make it a biotch to reconnect the headers. I don't think SA would send out and engine with an odd exhaust pattern.
(please don't state all the different heads for FEs. I do not think it is relevant to my post. thank you)

Yep, 427 Cobras were turds. That must be why they won all those times at LeMans....

You know, I learn something new everyday. Altering intake ports will make connecting rods exit a block.

This is exactly what happens when you read Chebbie magazines...

News to me.. I wasn't aware the 427 ever won anything at Le Mans.

Sorry, I should have separated my sentences. I meant to say that 427 Cobras were not turds (sarcastically) and.....the 427's were in the LeMans cars.

This whole retort was because of a statement on another thread that 427's were turds and were known as "rod breakers" or "rod throwers" or whatever he called them.
