Default Need Help Oil leak behind intake

Hello all,

I have the body off and noticed that there is a oil leak which seems to be coming from the rear of the intake manifold. I have search on the forum to see if there is a any good threads showing how to resolve this problem but I could not find anything.

I spoke to Barry from Survival and ordered a new intake manifold gasket that is supose to be new and improved.

The oil seems to be leaking from between the intake head and block area. It then runs down, what seems to be the joint where the head and block come together. It then sits on a small ledge and finally drips and lands on the floor.

Now when I assembled the motor I did not use the cork gasket on the ends or front and rear. I basically used silicone and I am assuming I missed a spot.

So now I want to fix it since it will be probably be the best time.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this as I dont want to do this with the body on and freshly painted.

**************Also, do I have to lift the intake or can I just run a beed on the back end of the intake and block to seal it ?
