hello all fe talkers im new to this so here i go im bulding a 427 fe ford block 458 cid edelbrock heads 329 in 234 ex flow 2.25 in 1.72 ex 779 739 286 298 at .050 108 lobe center comp solid roller 12.9 probe piston grp alum rod roller cam bearings in the block t&d rockers manton push rods and now the best part 48 ida webers 165 175 f2 this a drag race motor only no street anyone have any power output numbers for such a configuration of parts im planning on going with a little more on the air and fuel jets well anyway thank you all very much this a wonderful site thank you all for keeping it going

I'd be concerned those 48 Webers won't make enough power at the top end. Even 58's might not cut it for max power with a solid roller and the expected high rpm (7000 or better I would guess). For drag racing I'd go with a dual quad setup, if road racing then Webers.

I had a similiar setup, 427 block with 428 crank, solid roller, 12.5 to 1 compression that made well over 600 horse. That was with High Riser heads, dual four intake. The heads/intake came off an original 1964 Thunderbolt.

i have a tunnel wedge and some 660 carbs as well as tunnel ram you know the cleveland tunnel ram with an adapter on a fe base also i was thinking about an edelbrock victor with a dominator 1050

I built a engine similar to yours. I had 15-1 compression Iron heads with almost the same flow numbers a little bigger cam, tunnel wedge with two HP950 holley carbs. My engine made just over 800 HP at the crank.

I think you'll see max Hp out of a port matched Victor series manifold with the Dominator carb. It will have very poor part throttle drivability. Anything other that a 4160 style carb would have to be run sideways on the tunnel wedge. I've seen linkage kits to make them work like that though.

I'm running two custom built Quick Fuel 750s (4160 based carbs) on my ported Tunnel Wedge. They feed my KC aluminum 482 very well. I'm very pleased with part throttle and WOT. You're running more compression and cam then me. My heads flow similar, maybe a tad more.

ok cool i will go with the tunnel wedge or victor dominator combo just hate to lose the wow factor of the webers maybe i can just put them on my 428 in my 67 fastback thank you all for the great imput
