Question about the dash-mounted rear-view mirror

A few days ago, my 3-year-old Cobra enthusiast son managed to pull my rear view mirror off the windshield. My wife then accused me of encouraging him, since I've been wanting to replace it with a dash-mount mirror anyway!

My question is how do I mount the mirror? My car is together and I lack the expertise (or desire to acquire the expertise

) needed to remove the dash. Are there screws similar to wood screws that would secure the mirror (provided my son doesn't decide to use it as a piece of jungle gym equipment) without harming the fiberglass?
