I still say, your color looks like a more metallic version of CSX2000s final color of four. It was not Guardsman Blue, Carroll did not want that color!

Well, Jeff...
...the color is the hardest part! It will look awesome in any of the three. I am looking at it on two monitors, though, and it is different on each. It is not the best way to determine accuracy. Best if you can you bring the samples directly to the car for reference. Is that possible?

Nope 3006 has sold. I have pictures at LMC when I was with the car in first person but still digi screen. Spoke to Ryan (Restorer), he chose left. Difference is DuPont Guardsman (Original) did not use pearls. New eco paint does, hence in direct light “POP” in direct light. Pics I have after 3006 was painted indoors different, guardsman like. Did a family “pick L-R” while including Ryan and David at ESP Far left it is….. for now..... |

There you go! It is a hard task to pick the color. Interestingly, it looks like the original yellow on 2000 is the same as my car's color! Very cool!! |

David Brown is getting traction on body/primer. (ESP Motorcars)
Looking forward to new beginnings. I have asked for minimal fill as I don’t want a completely skimmed car. Also to leave ripples on inside rolled edges to create original type feel of a comp car. Not a fan of the over restored. |

Doors seams and fitment great! Smoothing out detailed areas. |
Refresh me on the history. Why only part aluminum?

Tony,
Asked that question alot. (Remember I was hit by a new driver in the rear) 1) The first consideration was durability. Having (2) alloy cars I like the fact that this one blends the alloy and glass in areas of concern. I can work on the car with less worry and rocks from track events or driving less a concern after all this work. 2) The front portion of the car in alloy was also an out of pocket of say an additional $40k. In this market I would be upside down for sure, would rather spend the dough on another car, 65 Cooper S, or something equally as fun. 3) This car in the end will be a top notch 427 car while 3/4 alloy basically as I could not find glass body to fit or at a lesser cost than alloy prior to making the alloy deposit and I didnt want to cancel my order with Alan... That's a bad taste move in our little world. Would have been a differnt call if the frame was not accepting of the alloy. I have two alloy cars, two partial and all that makes me a happy and lucky I feel. My wife is a saint and always on board with my hobby. When the alloy guy first see's the car and says "why change the front as its so good for starters" it made me think it over hard. The alloy is a talking point, the car will be on point after paint either way, I will be right side financially and its the path I chose... |
