Oh so that's what those round thingamabobs do... I was doing a parts inventory last weekend and wondered where they went.

Very cool!
Have you guys looked at making an orginal style SC trunk as an option?
I know it can be done with a couple simple frame mods and a different fuel tank. I did some cardboard mock ups a while ago and it looks like it would work.

The original style SC trunk is not a current listed option. The premium carpet comes standard with the kit and most owners have carpeted the trunk so all the fiberglass is covered.

The original trunk can be replicated and Hurricane would be happy to work with any of our owners that want to do this. We could develop templates for the panels and cut the aluminum pieces for installation.

This is one of the finishing details we typically leave to the customer to create their individual style and customize the car to their own specifications.

Speaking as a long term fan of the Hurricane product as well as a potential buyer who is not skilled at scratch fabrication, having the option to source factory fit panels for the trunk would be a great selling point!

I frequently say the kit manufacturer who gets my $$ will be the one who provides the MOST COMPLETE package...bonus points to the one who makes a product that requires absolutely NO fabrication. The Hurricane has always been on the short list....

True happiness for me was a bunch of alum. sheets, card board for patterns and my favorite tool...the pneumatic pop rivet gun. It was great fun making panels to cover up around the wheel wells and around the front of the radiator and oil cooler. It would be great if these extras were available at the factory so all customers could "gussy-up" their Hurricane.

It's all good, Bill

Steve, I took a few pics when I was mocking up in cardboard. Let me see if I can find them tonight and I'll send them to you for some ideas. Just to start the thinking-ball rolling.
