Benefit of a Hurricane Kit over any other?

Hello I am new to the Forum and I have seen a ton of threads about this issue but nothing to recent. I'm wondering if there are any new upgrades to the Hurricane kits compared to the other kits out there. I am looking to start my purchase of a replica and want to make sure I get the right kit for me. I have done a ton of research on the Hurricane kits and Factory Fives I don't want to start another war but I want to make the right choice. This is a dream of mine as well as it is for so many of you. Any info is greatly appreciated as well as other kits (ERA, Shell Valley) Thank you and I am glad to begin with the madness!

I chose hurricane based on customer service, good feedback from everyone who has dealt with them, they're constantly doing things to make the kit better, and it's relatively accurate in shape.

As well as met hima at a car show and that is one reason i am going with the Hurricane Is because of him. And I am glad I got to meet him because he even got my wife on board with the build. He should really work for them.

Never met him but I love his site! You will quickly find that all the owners will sell you on their brand.

I was in between Hurricane and Shell valley. Until I read the thread No Response

After reading the thread, I was sold! The fact that they put their family first pu the nail in the coffin!

I'd also like to add that my experience with Hurricane so far has been great! Mike always replies to my emails within 48 hours, I had my assembly manual all the way in iraq a week and a half after I placed my deposit. It's been nothing but good!

I love the accurate shape of the Hurricane, I am torn between an ERA 289 and a Hurricane 427. I can't see spending the money to start a kit that I will be dissapointed in (if the model in a manufacturers literature does not have good highlights, then I will surely struggle to make it look good). Some kits I have looked at need as much as a half inch of material removed just to get the bodyside reflection straight. That would be fine on a race car, but it's just not possible to make that kind of a correction in a glass body that's only 1/8" thick. For Me though, I lean toward the ERA 289 FIA because of it's rarity. I can't wait to see the new bodies FFR has been talking about (an accurate 427 and a 289 FIA). Might be worth the wait.

I went with a Hurricane Right Hand Drive Street Roadster,under car exhaust and all, and why them? They were up to the challenge of making a right hand drive car, not easy when you only think left hand and they have always been right on top of things. I also went with a SBC/TH350 and again they were willing to work with it. And another reason, they are always making things better including their own hardtop. You can check out mockup photos of HM1081 courtsey of Hurricane on their website under Owners Forum, then build pictures and finally NorJak Cobra, HM1081. While it has taken awhile to sort things out being the first of a new version, I'm confindent the end result will be well worth it...and I don't need to buy a donor car or sort out second hand spares.

Mine's done except for paint and I have 200 miles on it. The kit is the most complete one on the market. If the instructions call for a screw or a wire tie, it's included. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
