Default KMP625 engine is in; connection questions

The engine went in yesterday and am plumbing it up. I have two questions:

1) Kirkham shifter in TKO600. I need to move the pin and ball from the Tremec stub to the Kirkham sourced shift lever. Do people use a hydraulic press to move it? It isn't moving when I tap it.

2) Three wire Alternator. Besides the hot wire, does green/red go to the black lug and grey wire to the white lug or vice versa?

Thanks, Mark

Mark. See the following link on the shifter. See pages 10-12
Kirkham Motorsports Assembly Manual

What engine are you using. Do you have the correct input shaft in the TKO600?

Mine was made wrong. I need to ream the pin hole and spin down the ball. I also needed to turn down the area where the cup fit. I had already polished mine on a lathe so I figured i would do the rest of the work. It looked like the kirkham's sent me a roughly machined piece. I'm sure they would of fixed it for me but since my friend has a lathe we did it ourself. Don't force the cup if it doesn't tap on you may need to spin the shaft

It has been a little while since I installed mine but if i remember right, the pin came out with some tapping from a flat punch. I definitely did not have to push on it with a hydraulic press.

The pin comes out rather easily (usually). I had trouble installing it in the kirkham shifter

Thanks for the comments. I beat on the pin pretty hard and it didn't budge. It's hydraulic press time I think.

Mark, -- if you need a press we have one.
