Big question mark here????? Did the prevouis owner race the car, overheat it, run it low on oil, over rev the do-do out of it,break it in correctly??????
Abuse can easily happen along with damage in 1000 miles.....a buddy destroyed a motor in less than 500 miles cause he's an idiot and did everything you can do wrong to damage an engine from day one!!!!!!!!!
Still a bad deal for you, but not knowing much if anything about the prevouis 1000 miles leaves it open to a lot of possibilities.....
