I knew there had to be some polished votes out there.

I don`t think I have actually seen the elusive beauty in person, besides the Kirkham open houses.

I will say that windex has kept the finish on#318 looking great for ten + years.

Rodneys` choice of color with those wheels is drop dead beautiful.

I polished mine because I had only heard of one other that was polished - someone posted a picture of it in Shelbys showroom, it was parked on a black and white checked floor. I was awestruck. I just had to.

That polish took quite a bit of maintenance as it would oxidize pretty quickly - I never tried any coating which might have ameliorated that.

If I had to do it over I would have painted it a pretty blue with no stripes.

I think you saw my car, Maurice?

Start with polished, then brush it after about 5 years, then paint it about 7 years after that...

Dave - looks great with no stripe. A good choice.

Maurice - why go with what's the most popular for a Kirkham? It's a very good replica of a 427 Cobra, so why not replicate how the originals were finished.....and paint it?

Cheers,
Glen

I found the polished too bright to live with.
So brushed is where it's at right now.
The wife wants it painted blue of all colours.
But I can't settle on one colour.
So ive convinced myself that if I wanted a painted one id have bought a plastic one.

Pat,

I remember yours from when you brought it up here for the car show. It was so bright that people had a hard time trying to get a picture of it out in the sun. But is really looked good and got a lot of attention.

Ron

Good to hear from old friends,

Pat, I never actually saw your car in person, just some great pictures about the time I ordered #318.

One of those pics was the event Ron 61 referred to at Redding.

Well,

I tallied up the official results

8 for paint
5 for brushed
4 for polished

Thanks to everyone that participated.

I'm almost tempted to say "paint it beige and I'll foot the bill for it."

No one in their right mind would paint a replica of a 1960's race car BEiGE. And then, double down, and paint their wheels the same color...BEIGE.

The odds of this happening are greater than the winning the lottery
