I had mine painted black with a Ferrari red stripe, upkeep was constant, it was clean for about 20 seconds, I'd do the brushed next time.

I like my brushed with polished stripes. That being said, it gets fine scratches across the brushed grain just by looking at it cross-eyed. I don't mind it as it gives it a bit of an authentic look. And contrary to what you may read, Scotch-brite pads do not restore the original brushed grain. I've tried them all. It can improve the situation but it is a far cry from the original look. JMHO.
