Bronze next?

If I recall, it was Tom who was too damn lazy to paint his car and created the Bare Naked Lady approach.

Stunning creation...but you already know that.

Can arruminum be tinted during the mix?

BevanWright,

We really just wanted to make a cool car. When Thomas came up with the idea, I started drooling immediately and zapped an email off to Poland. I guess you could copper plate the aluminum or who knows what but I would probably grow old figuring out how to do it.

Edley,

We could make a frame out of aluminum and make the car even lighter…but it would take some serious thinking to do it. It is not as easy as just replacing the tubes with aluminum and driving down the road. Aluminum is 1/3 the weight of steel, but it is also 1/3 the stiffness of steel. There would be some thinking to do to make it all work. But, I assure you, we are thinking about it.

Jamo,

Thank you for your kind words. I am not sure how to “tint” aluminum.

Bronze will not form. It can only be cast. I can’t think how we could do that right now.

David

David,
When will the copper slabside be available? It sure does look cool in copper.

How fast would you have to go before you would see the heating/deformation advantage of titanium over aluminum? (ask Tom)

Jeff,

You know we would be happy to make you a copper slab side car.

As for the heat thing...somewhere around or above Mach 3. Airliners don't use titanium skins and if I remember right the F-16 didn't either. I think it only had titanium leading edges and some composites. If the F-16 goes what? Mach 2? Then maybe titanium skins aren’t needed until beyond Mach 2. The SR-71 reportedly went Mach 3+ and had titanium skins…so Mach 3 or so is my answer. Now I better go ask Thomas to see if I am right!

Bernie,

It would be very difficult to annodize an entire car--might be very interesting to see, however. I imagine the welds would anodize a different color so it might look a little strange.

Jeff,

I think you would look cool in copper! But, I am glad you still have your car. That car is sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

Al,

A LOT of pennies were saved for this one!

David,
I have two questions for you:

1. Do you still have Turk's old CSX4308 and if so, are you interested in selling it?

2. Please send me a complete breakdown and your best price on your copper car. Please forward the info either by email at:
sudans2@insightbb.com

OR

by regular mails to:
Dan Semko
3824 Chester Blvd.
Richmond, IN 47374

Thank You.

Have you contacted the T-Fal people over in Froggie-land?

A non-stick finish that only needs a quick wipe down with a paper towel.

Think about it.. a Cobra meet, you are cooking burgers on the hood with the engine running and the fans off to make her overheat. The grease runs off the hood into custom copper drip-trays for later disposal.

... With that T-Fal patented Red Dot in the middle of the hood to tell you when it's ready to cook.

T-Fal is the only good thing to come out of France this, or last, Century.

Beautiful work by the craftsmen (artists) in your shop!
