Do you really think that will need a new frame? The large main frame rails are not that close to the door edge, are they? |

I let my team of mechanics handle the details.
So hitting a safety inspector in Germany hitting a boulder is as stupid as someone (me) not checking that my pressure plate bolts are torqued down properly? I'll get right on it. I don't want to be stupid, at least this week.
OK, I'll bite. How many cars have crashed and/or burned and how many lives have been lost due to loose or missing pressure plate bolts? |

I thought you had been following this thread and just hadn't posted. TKO600 clutch If you haven't read the thread, take a moment and do so -- especially if you have an aluminum flywheel. Checking the bolts will take you about 15 minutes if you dangle a remote bump switch under the car. It'll take much longer if you bump it over using the key. It didn't occur to me to dangle the remote switch down through the engine bay until I had bumped it over maybe 20 times with the key. |

I was recently bump starting my motor for a timing issue marker thing. Doing that destroyed several teeth on the starter drive. It was acting funny shortly after and then went out completely in a parking lot. Maybe it was the cheap $59 starter that was the problem...
Got a couple of guys to push the car and bump started using 2nd gear to get home and replace the starter (another cheap $59 unit). |

I used to have the high dollar mini-starter, the non-replaceable starter drive went out on it and I was left with a high doller mini-starter piece of junk. Sometimes, "old school" works out better the "new school". |

While I do have complete confidence in the shop that did the install and subsequent upgrades of my car, and handle everything with the utmost scrutiny and quality control, when I do change my oil this Winter, I'll try to have a look-see just to play it safe. |
