Las Vegas Car Clubs
I talked with Jeff with the las vegas car clubs. Their the ones that held the rally last month and got a link from our website (vegascobras) to www.lasvegascarclubs.com. That should be one more avenue to get other cobra owners to find us.

Hey Scott, we have sort of highjacked your posting. What do you think of a joint club meeting? John

John,
A joint club meeting could be great. How about Friday thru Sunday, April 4th thru 6th. We could open this up to all cobra guys within driving distance of Las Vegas.
Friday drive over to Las Vegas. Stay at South Coast Hotel Casino. (This is south of the strip on Las Vegas Blvd.) Or a strip hotel if you wanted to be closer to the strip action.
Saturday morning meet at the Boulevard Bar and Grille across the street for Breakfast.
After breakfast take a run to the west of las Vegas, through the red rock area, then north to Lee's Canyon, up to Mount Charleston for lunch. Then back down the mountain and back to Las Vegas. The Lodge on Mt. Charleston is up in the pine trees at 8500 feet elevation.
Then we could have dinner and see who has the biggest tail to tell.
Anyone else have any comments on this??

Scott, that sounds like a great plan. Let's do it! I assume this will be a co-ed operation (that is, bring the significant other if they'll go)? Maybe we could figure out something for Sunday morning too...a cruise down the Strip?
FWIW, South Coast has changed names and is now South Point, but it's a good location. Does the Mt. Charleston Lodge take reservations? If so, maybe we should get a head count and do that.

Ken,
Glad to see your back in town. Our next meeting/run is on Saturday March 15th. Doug is planning that one.
Yes, April run is definately co-ed. Mt. Charleston doesn't take reservations....but as we get closer to the date a head count sound good.

Hi Scott, The only thing that I see on the Arizona Cobra web page is an annual Picnic on April 5th. I'll present this to our President Mikiec and see what he thinks about that date. John Ps. Looking at the calendar, the 18,19,20th might be better.

Here's what's planned for the next couple of "Regular, 3rd Saturday" club meetings:
March 15th: We'll meet with the Ferrari and Lotus clubs at the Hooters @ Sunset Station at 1:00pm. Activities before 1:00 are to be determined. If anyone has any recommendations, let me know.
April 19th: Dyno day at the Speedway along with Time w/Tom of Tom's Motorsports. We'll meet at 8:00 am at the Iron Skillet at the Speedway then take turns at NRP's dyno. When not on the dyno, Tom will have his shop open for a tour along with films and shop talk. For those that don't know, Tom is the area "expert" on Cobras and runs a couple of Shelby Cobra Spec Racers.
An April 4-6 event falls in between those dates and should work for everyone. I have a previous commentment for breakfast on the 5th but I can catch up with the rest about 9:30 or so.

Hey Doug, I have checked with our Arizona Cobra Club President and he advises that there are quite a few events already scheduled, they include everything from one day events to the Knotts show and the Routh 66 Fun Run which are three day events. It looks like we'll have to re-think the date and look for something in the fall. The five hour drive to Las Vegas is a bit much any time after mid-May when we hit 100 degrees. Thanks for your reply. John
