Somebody should email that name to the Car Talk show on NPR. Don't think I have ever heard them use that one.

Had a client (actually the head of a family-owned farming operation) that owned much of what is now south of downtown San Jose when it was all fruit trees...for 30 years he would always handwrite that firm name on envelopes or letters he was sending to me. He would always call within three days just to see if I noticed the firm name, and then he would laugh his off.
Sadly, he and his brothers are gone now...but your post reminded me of these good folks.

I lived in Santa Clara many moons ago. What used to be all prune orchards is now all Apple. And Google and Youtube! There was a restaurant in a strip mall called the Pruneyard. They had nearly 500 omelets on the menu and if you didn't see one you liked, they'd make one to order. That was our Sunday breakfast place.

In a discussion about bimbo names, we settled on "Bambi" as the most bimboesque. Then someone pointed out how stupid that is, given that Bambi is a boy.
Then someone pointed out Dr. Bambi Pecenek, chief of pediatric surgery at a major midwest hospital, and we all found something else to talk about.

Belongs in Jokes, but can't resist...
Guy meets a big-hat, big-talkin' Texan, obviously very well off, at a party. Eventually the guy asks the Texan if he owns any land. "Why, shore, pardner, I've got sixty acres!" the Texan boasts proudly. The guy scratches his head. "Sixty acres? Wow, in Texas that must be so small it doesn't even have a name." The Texan thinks a minute. "Y'know, you're right. Most people just call it Downtown Dallas."

Yup...the decendents of the brothers I spoke about still farm prunes up near Marysville. They switched over to "growing" houses around San Jose in the 50s and 60s.
