Tru,

I am sure that you can fix the sending unit for your speedo. As for the reverse thing, you are correct that it is a matter of preference. I am just down shifting and shifting into 2nd more than 1st. I still liked my 65 that had the T-Bar on the handle. Only way to get it into reverse was to pull the T-Bar upward.
My 69 has the reverse back down on the left next to 2nd. But another thing to remember is the linkage back then was sloppy compared to todays, and I won't update it because I want to keep it the way it came. Every time I drive that one, I have to learn how to shift all over again.

Little Mike- it's "Ragtop Fever."

Like malaria, it's incurable and expensive to treat.

Example: Local Ford dealer finally got in an '05 ragtop Mustang.

(My dream Mustang is an '05 ragtop, dark metallic blue, white stripes, Ford makes one. Guess why I'm in love.)

The one in stock is red, tan top, but it's a GT.

Try $33K sticker.

No way in hell.

Price 'way cool used Cobras on this and other sites!

A V-6 AOD ragtop is $26K.

A V-6 coupe is #21K.

The '03 vert stays in the family for a while.

Time for a programmer, architectural window tint (illegal) and maybe new rims, the Eagles are looking tacky and won't hold a polish.

Gunrack is in the engine shop, carb, timing, ignition tweaks.

On the road maybe next week.

I'll PM you with pics of new women on board and new rims.

UT

UT,

Mustangs are alot cheaper where you live than here. I visited the local
Ford dealer here in Kailua because he had a GT40 on display.

2005 Mustang GT hardtop: $35k + $4k "dealer adjustment" = $39k

2005 Mustang GT ragtop: $39k + $7k = $46k

And last but not least 2005 GT40: $155k + $134k "dealer ad on" $289k.

They do these "dealer adjustments" a lot here. Ouch!

Geeze, I thought the dealer markup was bad here. Id hate to see the sticker price on one of those 06 GT500's

UT- Hows Gunrack doing, is she out of the paint booth yet?

Well at least we don't have Dealer Adjustments here. It is called Dealer prep and can range any amount they want as they can claim they had to do a lot more to get one car ready than another. I to figure the dealer greed will drive the Shelby GT-500s out of the normal persons buying range. I haven't priced the 05 Convertible as I just haven't been to any dealer yet that has one in stock. But I think I have bought my last car anyway, so the prices are not very important to me.

Alright, You two got it. I fixed the sending unit. Checked it out last night and it worked fine.

SOOooooooooo, I am down to two thingys left, I got a bad axel seal and a clutch problem.

The axels out and ready to be dropped off at a machine shop. The clutch, I am not sure about.

I tried the paper clip on the clutch and it didn't fix it. Added the fuzz and still no workie. I'll get it soon.

Hey, it's suppose to snow on Thursday. Go figure.

Tru,

Throw some snow on the clutch. Hope the axel comes out ok and wasn't hurt any. Just what is your clutch doing anyway?
We had wind here last night like you wouldn't believe. I thought it was going to blow the house away. It is still blowing this morning but at a much lower level. Temperatures are in the high 60s and low 70s just this darned wind.

I get the axle back today.

Man, what happened to this thread? It went dead. Is everyone in the head? hehehe

It is raining. The trees needed it very badly.

No coffee, my mind has gone to mush.

I'm here, I'm here.......

Been nice here lately.....

Getting little things done each day......

Lots of time spent back and forth to the parts shop, what a drag, lots of trial and error in fitments...................

Cool

Tru,

You are gaining. It will be ready in no time now.

Earl,

Take the car to the parts place. It will save many trips. Believe me, I have been through this. We finally loaded a friend of mine's car on the trailer and just took it with us. I figure that alone saved us at least 25 trips.

hello. just stopped in for a few minutes. Spent 3 hours today, and 2 yesterday, painting columns and an arch for the middle school banquet. Aren't we glad we are an involved parent??

Sent 14 yo moody son off on school trip at 7:30 this a.m. He won't be back til Friday evening. yea!!! Although, I will say he hasn't been terrible THIS week... Might actually miss him....

hubby and #1 daughter leave Friday afternoon for Indian Princess campout. won't be back til Sunday noon. BIG YEA!!!

sending baby cobra girl to memom's friday night. the hoodlums can 'fend for themselves'. I have NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY on saturday!!! 9-9. I will have to 'take a break' for a couple of hours tho', to take moody boy to soccer.

hmmm. which books to scrapbook??? hmmmm.

nothing going on in big D. boring. boring. boring.

haven't heard from mikie in a while. he must be really busy with stuff.

He needs to check out the thread by the high school kid that did a cobra build as his school project. Maybe he could give our young friend some pointers.... SSSsnake or something like that.

Kristen,

Nice of you to pop in. I was starting to wonder what had happened to you and Lil Mike. Strange that you should both vanish at the exact same time.

Hi all, I just got back from the doctors office. It seems the operation I had scheduled for this past Monday is no longer an option but now a necessity. The spot they found has grown larger and the people that read the films are now saying it is consistent with cancerous growths. So the operation has been scheduled for May 2nd. So I have only a few days to make some progress on the Cobra before I am laid up for a couple of months. Wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts......Earl

Earl:
How many times do you have to be told, stay away from doctors.
Every time I go to mine they try to take something out of fix something. They're never satisfied.
Hope everything works out well. I'll keep a good thought for you.

Earl, our friend. Good thoughts for you. Take the couple of months 'off' time as time to acquaint yourself with the build manual, and getting to know all the details of your car. well, I hope their is a build manual... You KNOW you'll be in our thoughts, and our prayers, on May 2, and the following weeks.
