I hear ya
We are looking right now for a place along the Oregon coastline. If we find what we want we are outta here.
Well, we will still visit Club Cobra. But we will be outta Texas! This heat is terrible.

Tru,
Still hanging in there and may make another attempt to get that mess mowed today. What really ticks me is that three times back when I was having to mow it almost weekly, just as soon as I would finish here came this pick up with mowers in it and the guy wanting to know if I had any mowing he could do. He could see that I had just finished and was cleaning the mowers. Now I can't find him anywhere.
Steve,
I know what you mean about the heat. That is the really bad thing about here. But the Oregon and Washington coast lines have lots of rain spread out almost every day it seems. Probably the reason it is so nice over there. I like around Cresent City just South of the Oregon line but they have lots of fog and rain too. I almost stayed in Washington and went to work when I got out of the military, but that daily rain around the Olympia and Seattle area scared me off. But great weather and great people. And some really beautiful country.

THE WORLD'S BEST CHILI (MADE IN TEXAS)
A business man from Chicago was going on a trip to San Antonio.
Everyone was telling him to visit Bert's Chili House, it has world
famous chili. So after he arrived he went looking for Bert's
Chili House. To his surprise there was a line outside the door. He could smell the chili, and normally wouldn't wait in line but this
smelled so good.
Finally our man gets inside and gets a seat.
What'll ya have?", asked the waitress.
"Well, I heard you have some world famous chili and I could smell
it outside the door, and that is what I really have my heart set on."
"Well I sure am sorry, that guy over there got the last bowl. He
don't seem to be eating it though, just staring at it, you might go see if you can talk him out of it."
So the guy walks over to him, "Hi, I was told you got the last
bowl of chili?"
"Yep, that's what they told me"
" Well, are you going to eat it?"
"Nope, have at it. So the guy tastes it.
"Oh man, that is the best chili I have over eaten." he starts
scarfing it down. He gets down to almost the bottom of the bowl and finds a mouse.
He uncontrollably starts vomiting right back into the bowl.
The guy said, " Yep, that was as far as I got, too."

Earl,
It is so hot and humid here that even the buzzards won't fly. Doctors are telling older people (like me) to stay inside as much as possible. It is supposed to cool off into the high 90s late this week but I wouldn't bet much on that.
Did the last hurricane cause you any damage? Or was it far enough away that you got to miss it. Hope so. It is probably following Turk.
Blykins,
For you!
More Bill & Hillary......
Bill and Hillary are at the Yankee's season opener; sitting in
the first row, with the Secret Service people directly behind them. One of the Secret Service guys leans forward and whispers something to Bill.
At first, Clinton stares at the guy, looks at Hillary, looks back
at the agent, and shakes his head "no". The agent then says, "Mr. President, it was a unanimous request of the entire team, from the owner of the team to the bat boy.
" Bill hesitates...but begins to change his mind when the
agent tells him the fans would love it! Bill shrugs his shoulders and says,
"Oh-Kay! If that is what the people want. C'mere Hilly baby..."
With that, Bill gets up, grabs Hillary by her collar and the seat
of her pants, lifts her up, and tosses her right over the wall onto the field.
She gets up kicking, swearing, screaming, "Bill you !*%$%**!!! " The crowd goes absolutely wild. Fans are jumping up & down, cheering, hooting & hollering, and high-fiving. Bill is bowing, smiling and waving to the crowd. He leans over to
the agent and says, "How about that! I would have never blieved how much everyone would enjoy that!" Noticing the agent has gone totally pale, he asks!
What is wrong. The agent replies, "Sir, I said they want you to
throw out the first Pitch!"

Good morning Tru,
Mowing is done. A young guy from the Fire Department came over and did it for me. He wouldn't charge me as he said my lot was not nearly as bad as 99% of the others around here. They have a Volenteer group that works with kids and I told him I would drop by and make a donation to that and he said that would be great. Temperature was 109 while he was mowing and he said he could see why I couldn't take it as he is young and in great shape and he was dragging after about 20 minutes. Really a relief to have that out of the way. Now Im can putmy full concentration into my back and other parts that are falling apart.
A man goes into a lawyer's office and says, "I heard people have sued the tobacco companies for giving them lung cancer, and McDonald's for making them fat."
The lawyer says, "Yes, that's true."
The man says, "Well, I'm interested in suing too."
The lawyer says, "Okay, McDonald's, or the tobacco companies?"
The man says,
"Neither, I'm suing Budweiser for all the ugly people I've slept with.

Good Earl.
Ron, I think you should grab a ice cold 12 pack of iced tea and thank those men personally.

PC = Potential Coast dweller. Rain, Fog, Hard Winds from Ocean Storms, and 7 days a year that you can drive the Cobra.
Tru,
I just know the one young guy and they work 24 hour shifts and at odd days, so it is easier to do what I did. I just stopped by this morning and gave them some money to help with the volenteer program and if that helps some kid, then it is worth it. It was sure worth it to me to have that mess mowed.
Earl,
I am hoping that your post was not the Trojans that you told me you keep getting. Get the Cobra going and then you can sleep as you will have a fast way to run from the hurricanes.
