Kristen, I bet the old people made the biggest mess. Still wiping the drool off of the Cobra?

trularin 12-12-2004 06:48 AM

Holley Cow ( spelled that way on purpose ), is that a picture of you. Ron?

Gee, looks like you got some very nice weather. Ahh... it's a snowing... again. In the winter here, I just about have to park the Kabota and the Green tractor ( 24 hp ) at the front of the big barn for snow removal.

My wife drives the green one, I drive the orange ( Kabota ) and the boys shovel. This can take as long as four hours if 12 or more drops in a single night.

I want a two post. Your ramps are good for some work, but when you need to work under it, doesn't the ramp get in the way?

Kristen, I hope I didn't open the door on a problem by inviting all of CC to your place. It sounds like it is much bigger that my little farm. Two trees ( not including Ron's ), rooms that will seat 42 without a hitch... Wow. Now I know why you have to run to this and run to that... you are cleaning in between.

We had hockey last night, I am sorry to say we lost.

Dang, what was the topic of this thread again????

trularin 12-12-2004 06:52 AM

Good goin on the post count Mike, how in the Dicken's can you have that high a count so fast?

Mike, are you or can you go to the DVSF in Ohio?

LwCwb 12-12-2004 06:53 AM

Whos that old guy in that picture?

Sorry, I'll be nice now, promise.

Tru, keep this on topic, the discussion is cheese fried rocks.

LwCwb 12-12-2004 06:56 AM

I would love to go to the DVSF this year, im pretty sure my dad would let me go sometime though........

The post count is a mystery, I have no idea how it goes up so fast.

LwCwb 12-12-2004 07:32 AM

hey,littlecobra 12-12-2004 07:43 AM

c'mon, down, Club Cobra!!

hey, Tru! open invite..... Got plenty of room....
The funny thing is that this house doesn't have a dining room! 38 came, not 42. A couple of no-shows. One guy brought about 120 fresh, homemade tamales. They are great, and we've invited some friends over tonight to have leftovers! If they can get around all the mess on the floor. My little dog K.C. enjoyed the crumbs. He looks like he's hungover, too.....

Of course the biggest hit were the fried rocks I served with queso. Quite delicious!

A few of us are thinking of coming to DVSF V next year. Would love to meet/see some of ya'll.

Hasta la vista, baby!
Kristen
gonna get me some lifts. guess I'll have to make a "real" thread to get opinions on that..... Does that mean I should buy some tools, too?? :JEKYLHYDE

DonC 12-12-2004 07:44 AM

Probably Turk's rock on vacation.

hey,littlecobra 12-12-2004 07:46 AM

Mike, that pic is huge!!!

392cobra 12-12-2004 07:58 AM

Ron,
I like the looks of your lift.Is that the 5,000 lb. unit ? If you have the 'lay flat' option, how easy is that to use ? This looks like what I need as I don't have the headroom for one of those big lifts you can also park under.
That Ford parked next to your beautiful Cobra reminds me of the '69 Torino Cobra I bought in the winter of '68. :3DSMILE:

Mike,
Kristen doesn't drool all that much except when she is on top of the 'high five'.:D

Ron61 12-12-2004 08:03 AM

Tru,

Yea, that's all of me in the picture. Told you that I was the oldest person still moving.
As for the ramps getting in the way. No, they are open all the way back, no cross pieces or anything like that. Just the lift bar in the front and I just raise it up if I need to go under there and have plenty of clearance. I just don't have enough height and space in my garage for a lift without major, $$$$$$$ , surgery to relocate and extend the main door and then move other things. In fact I can remove my transmission in 20 minutes by myself as there is nothing to get in the way and I can sit up under there. Also the ramps can be widened or narrowed to fit any car. They are perfect for my situation, and I can lay them flat on the floor if I want. And I do have the bridge for them if I want to jack the car up while up on them.

Mike,

Laugh now, your time is coming. :JEKYLHYDE But at least I have an excuse for my insane statements. I am old and senile.

Kristen,

If you fried one of Turk's rocks off-spring you may be in big trouble. He may actually take you up on your offer to visit.

Ron61 12-12-2004 08:19 AM

Fred,

My ramps are suppposed to hold 7,000 pounds but I have nothing nearly that heavy. The lay flat option is a cinch. Justtake the car off, pull the two locking pins in the rear legs and they fold right under and the ramp lays down on the floor. Also very easy to just move each ramp off to the side if you want to. Takes about a minute to do either. Thanks for the compliment on the Cobra. Most of the guy's here with the 100K plus ones prefer that I park off from them as mine is not a show car.

And that is a 1969 Torino Cobra. The Ford dealer was a friend of mine back then and he ordered it for me. Still has the original Goodyear Polyglas bias tires on it. It is in the registry and is just one of only 29 made in that exact configuration. I have 41,658 miles on it, most of that driving it to Sacramento and San Francisco for people to see. The only car that I ever kept that I should have. Several magazines have did write ups on it. I really love that car. Has all NASCAR running gear and just one option. An old AM radio which I can listen to the engine run with. :)

clayfoushee 12-12-2004 08:30 AM

Very nice Ron!

Ron61 12-12-2004 08:39 AM

Thanks Clay. Mike, you just fell another post behind. I heard that Kristen is planning an all out Blitzcrieg to get her count way above yours.

Ron :D

LwCwb 12-12-2004 10:23 AM

Ron
How about some pics of the Torino. My uncle had a 70 with a 428 Cobra jet in it, he sold it for $1,000 a few years ago. Long story short, the guy that bought it off of him restored it and got $22,500 for it. Yea, I know my time is coming, im already hanging out with people four times my age.

Ron61 12-12-2004 10:44 AM

Mike,

If I am 4 times your age who is doing your typing for you ? Remember, old age and trechery will overcome youth and enthusiasm. :D

I will get out some of my CDs after while and look for some good pictures of the Torino. In the mean time if you go to the Hemmings motor news site and look in their on-line car show, one of the magazines put both it and the replica in there. I think they are under Cobras as I just went and looked sometime back when a friend asked me if I know my cars were there. From the way it is writtten up I think I know the magazine and they kind of got the two inter mixed. I have been helping a young man in Min. for the last two years try to find parts to restore his Father's which was one of the 29 like mine, but has set outside for over 20 years.
How about sending me an e-mial address and that way I can attach a fewof the pictures to it. :JEKYLHYDE

Ron

LwCwb 12-12-2004 10:57 AM

Thanks Ron, its LwCwb@aol.com

I would have sent you a pm, but i can get my post count up this way:LOL:

Ron61 12-12-2004 11:01 AM

Kristen is watching your post count get closer to hers all the time. Don't be surprised if it all of a sudden drops by 100 or so.

Ron :D

LwCwb 12-12-2004 11:04 AM

Don't worry, I will pass her sometime, I still have a ways to catch up with you though:LOL:

Ron61 12-12-2004 11:12 AM

I am still trying to make up the 80+ that I lost when Brent updated the server the last time.
