Tru,

Thanks for the compliment. I think I was 29 once but it was so long ago I don't remember it. Funny how I just couldn't wait to get to 16 so I could get a drivers license and now I am back in the same boat. Can't wait to be 16 again.

Default Santa's Ride

Subject: Santa's Ride

Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the
Federal Aviation Administration, and it was shortly before
Christmas when the FAA examiner arrived.

In preparation, Santa had the elves wash the sled and bathe
all the reindeer. Santa got his logbook out and made sure
all
his paperwork was in order.

The examiner walked slowly around the sled. He checked the
reindeer harnesses, the landing gear, and Rudolf's nose. He
painstakingly reviewed Santa's weight and balance
calculations for the sled's enormous payload.

Finally, they were ready for the checkride. Santa got in,
fastened his seatbelt and shoulder harness, and checked the
compass. Then the examiner hopped in carrying, to Santa's
surprise, a shotgun.

"What's that for?" asked Santa incredulously.

The examiner winked and said, "I'm not supposed to tell you
this, but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff."

Default Good morning, boys!

18* outside! brrr. Snow is still on the ground. Guess that's all we'll see for a while.... Still looks pretty.... Glad you like the pic, Ron! Feel free to copy, I feel that anything in somebody's gallery, post is "fair game" and certainly "public domain".
It was fun taking the pic for all you guys, just sorry the Cobra wasn't in it, with a big red bow on top!
I tried posting the photo straight from computer to thread, but couldn't do it... need to get out your directions from months ago and see if it makes any better sense, now. Had to put it in the gallery first.
Earl: Sunnyvale is a precious, sleepy town about 5 minutes from Dallas. If I got high enough above our house I could probably see downtown.... East of Dallas, next to a suburb called "Mesquite". Like the firewood, mesquite, grilled yadayada.
It's very proud of its small town-ness, and has no Police dept. The dallas county sheriff's dept. patrols, and patrols well, I might add! (haven't gotten me yet, but lots of looks) - in the Cobra, I mean!
So, Ron, 29 again? Do you FEEL 29 again? When are you getting back the Carb? Cold and windy where you are; cold and breezy here. Well, lots to do today. Grocery store, wrap presents. At least the blasted cards are done! None of you guys pm'ed me to get a card!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
have a great day, guys. oh and Mike, it looks like you've flown by... oh well, I'll catch ya later...
Kristen

Question

Kristen,

I hope to get the carb back after the first of the year. I should have know better than to believe they would have it back in the 2 weeks they said. I think as soon as they received it they all took off for Christmas vacation. Oh, well, to cold and windy for driving now anyway. And if they mess around to long with it after the first, I will buy a new one and then they can either keep that one or I will use it for a back up. And no, I don't feel 29 again. Darn it was really nice when I was a teen ager and knew all there was to know. Now as I get old, I find I know less and less, and today teen agers know everything. Boy, do the ones that survive have a rude shock coming in about 30 years.

As for posting directly into a post, the picture must be less than 40K, and then you use the Browse button at the bottom left of the post. Select the picture and hit the Submit button and it will load directly into the post. But that picture was to nice to resize down that smallas it would have lost some of the nice detail.

Well, Jon, you would've had it; the post about Santa's Ride wasn't there when I first started typing! It took me a while to get back to my post, as hubby and I were trying to work out the day's events.... (he's gone and being manly- cutting wood)
BTW I've added another shot of the tree in my gallery, the ornaments look fake, tho'! Must be the digital detailing, or lack thereof....
happy day!
gotta go wrap! girls will help (?)

Default Happy Festivus !

Festivus!
Created on Seinfeld, Festivus "Festivus is a holiday held on 23 December of each year. It was created as a response to the commercialism of the other December holidays. Its slogan is "Festivus, a holiday for the rest of us".
The Festivus celebration includes three major components.
The Festivus Pole - display of an unadorned aluminum pole, apparently in opposition to the commercialization of the decorated Christmas trees.
The Airing of Grievances - where the celebrant tells their friends and family all of the instances where they disappointed the celebrant that year.
The Feats of Strength - where the head of the family tests their strength against one participant. Festivus is not considered over until the head of the family has been pinned. A participant is allowed to decline to attempt to pin the head of the family only if they have something better to do instead."

Exclamation

Kristen,

Take the picture that you have of Pepe in front of the house before the tree was decorated when you were teasing Mike about his not having his Cobra yet. Cut it out of that picture and paste it into the one with the snow and decorations and that will make a great picture.

Deadwood,

I see that you are bored too. Winter weather certainly puts a halt to a lot of fun.

As a former Kinder garden teacher if anyone can cut and paste it should be you. Which photo program are you using? Remember step 1. CUT 2. PASTE 3. PANIC

"I love teachers. If you do something wrong, they make you do it over again. "

Well, it looks like it is only going to be 8 inches.

Took an hour to plow, blow and shovel the drive.

Mike should be out shoveling walks, get that money for the car.

Tru,

Mike is probably busy with school work. Just 8". Hardly enough for you to mess with back there. I figured it would be at least 18 ". What is with the shovel when you have a snow blower? Rocks or something that may get picked up.

photo program. you always ask the trickiest questions! I guess mostly hp. I'll get it..... just NOT TODAY! I got the cut/paste part. It's shrinking down the photo I was having trouble with!

Kinda sad. Just wrapped gifts for brother-in-law and nieces that are coming to visit tomorrow, from Missouri. Remember my sister that died in May.....
playing carols on cd. back to wrapping..... hi, tru! How's your "mandatory vacation" doing? Keeping busy? Sounds like it, with blowing, shoveling, etc.!
ps. I thought Mike's last day was yesterday??

Blow on concrete, plow on gravel and shovel walk ways.

Blower is 48 by 24, plow is 24 by 72 and I am tired.

If it starts up again, I'll keep that 18" in mind.

Kristen,

When the holidays are past and things slow down, I will get with you via e-mail or PM which ever you prefer and send you the pictures and steps that I have on a disk I use to send to new people. Ron(CW) is preparing a really great layout for this and it has more pictures than the one that I made, so will be easier to follow. I put that picture in the post to remind you of the time that you were complaining about seeing my car there but you never saw any of your pictures show up.

Tru,

Believe me, I know what shoveling snow is like. Killer work and especially if it is wet and heavy. When we had our 10 year snow last Winter and everything fell down and caved in I shovled for 3days just to get 45 feet to the street from my garage on an asphalt driveway. Broke two shovel handles trying to lift that wet stuff. We has 26" here in my flat upper lot. I am stillpaying for some of the damages.

Ron
