Kristen,
Shasta Lake is 10 miles North of Redding and about a 40 minute drive to the Oregon border, depending on traffic. I live 7 miles from Shasta Dam. If you have a map, just find Sacramento and follow I-5 North to Redding. Shasta Lake is just off I-5 on the West side. Nice area for scenery and driving when the weather is nice. Lots of mountain roads and history here. Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta are both near by and Lassen is still active. Lots of old gold mining towns around and Weaverville still maintains the downtown area just as it was 100 years ago. They have a nice small car show up there every year and the drive up the canyon and along the river is great. Lots of gold dredges in the river. I can drive 10 miles in one direction and be in mountains or 15 miles in another direction and be in almost flat desert.
Since you are using his Visa Card today, get a ton of stuff and save yours next week.
