I had a bunch of details wrote up that took me 30mins to write, then the comuter decided to shut off. #%!*$&&#$%$&^$&#**&$%@#!! Lemme try this AGAIN.
Kristen, I go to school about an hour before you first post (I read the new posts during keyboarding.)
Tru, all I can think of that we need without the prints being physically in front of me are the twin 4" main rails. Maybe if we are not too much of a bother we can ask one of the Kirkham brothers how much of what materials they use to build their frames, since they build them to original specs as well. Im thinking of a Jaguar 9 or 8.8 inch based IRS, I need some time and ideas as to what to use on the front suspension, IFS of course. We also need one of those bender things (I can't think of what they call it, but it has a big wheel attached to two smaller wheels that puts an arc on tubing, anyone know the name of this contraption?) Mr. Howell (shop teach) said he will get a new Mig Welder for this project. I will keep all of you updated on the details. Maybe I can borrow one of my tech. teachers digital camera and take pics through out the build.
We have a Senior project meeting tomorrow, I am going to ask my advisor if I can build an engine (FE of course) instead of the house, as I think I will be getting in the way and holding up progress if I am always stopping work to take pics or ask questions. I just wanna get the friggin house DONE!

Mike,
Get a battery backup for the computer. The ones that I use will give you about 25 minutes when the power goes off. Plenty of time to save whatever you are doing and it has saved me a lot of grief several times on both computers.
I think you are referring to a Mandrell ( Yes Kristen, I know, spelling ), bender. That is what they used to bend my 3" diameter roll bar with. Makes a perfect bend with no crinkle at all in the underside.

you go to school an hour before my first post, but yes, I don't usually post until the i'm showered, dressed, 'madeup', kids are fed, dressed, lunched boxed, sent to school, breakfast is cleared and tidying for the day has begun. i feel like half my day is done before 8 am!!!! oh, and tomorrow I 'get' to take kids to school, as hubby is gone for the night. And, it's Wednesday!!! Scrapbook day!!! It makes 'hump' day the best day of the week.
so, regarding your frame. Can we keep frame topic over on the frame thread??? It's too confusing to jump from one to the other!!! Ron, is that a Mandrell, as in Barbara??!!!
I'm sure at some point I'll see Earl!! I'll be at the 'beach'? in disney with the girls, too! (2 of 'em)
It's gonna be a tight week; the trailer and cobra have to be loaded before I even go to Florida, so that when I get home Thursday evening I re-pack and head to Austin first thing Friday morning! Wow!! By myself. Sounds goooooodddddd.....
The logisitics expert at work..... Just trying to figure out how to make Tulsa (mid america) and Spring Fling work. Besides the fact that I DO have a family, and am expected to be around some this summer!!!! baseball, softball, etc..... I have to get my new tires before I get back on the track.... so much to do, and now I have this big ol school project I stupidly volunteered for.......

Ok, ill post the details on the frame thread from now on. Maybe.
Ron, no, its not a mandrel bender, I have seen it on monster house when they put an arc on a piece of square stock....
It has two little wheels stacked on top of each other like this:
()
()
and right beside them there is a larger wheel used to turn the top wheel to force the stock into the the center of the two and puts an arc in it.

oh, yeah, Gary, I know about volunteering!! I've taken a couple of years 'off', and it seems I'm slowly getting back in. I always said I'd 'follow my kids' with my projects.... I mostly started volunteering at the local library; shelving, check out, story times, etc.... after 12 years, 2 time 'volunteer of the year', (most hours 2 years running!!) and finally, President of the Friends of the library for 3 years. Projects, fundraising, work work work, all for a lovely volunteer appreciation dinner! No, just kidding, very rewarding, but after 12 years, I finally moved away from it all (we moved for school- not to escape my volunteerism!!! ) We moved 3 years ago, and this is my first 'real' project at their school. When people find out you're a worker bee, or better yet, a 'queen' bee, then watch out! With my youngest being 5, I can do a little more at school. At some point I will substitute, but I don't EVER want to go back to classroom teaching!!! Gotta keep my Wednesday's open for scrapbooking!!!
ps. I started all the library work as a 'newlywed'; not working etc.... After 4 kids, the youngest was 2, I said enough!!!

Ok, I finally decided to dive into this (silly) thread. It has taken me 1 week and 2 days, and 23 hours, and 52 minutes to read it all, and I wish I never got started. Also, got to see a side of Kristen that, frankly, scared me....
