Interesting way of looking at it Mike. That's not the way it works, but interesting.
May I suggest you take a different approach? Collect enough money to buy a Cobra ( since you are he!! bent on getting one ). Find the one you want to buy and secure a loan from a bank to purchase the car.
Make payments for six months and then pay off the car. That will start a "Good credit rating" for you.
Tools are expensive. I suggest you start buying small amounts as you go. Never be afraid to purchase the best, you will never be disappointed. Brand names with warranties are the way to go.
The other place to look is garage sales and used tool stores. Look for Snap-on, SK, Proto,... It is best to know what a wrench costs before you buy one. That is to say, a wrench marked $15.00 used and costs $15.50 new, is not a deal.
Ebay has very few deals, unless you are purchasing a whole, large set.
