I did not make it to Shasta lake but it took us three days to get through California. We took our time and stopped at all the tourist traps to visit. Boy did we have fun.

I had forgotten how long it took to get through California. We only got lost two times on the whole trip and both were in California. We somehow ended up in the olive groves, then the orange groves, then the .... well you get it. When you get outside of town there are NO SIGNS AT ALL! Get this we even ask a policeman and he had no idea where the highway was. There was a wreck and it was a fairly bad one. We saw a firetruck on the side on the road. The guys were looking at maps on the front fender of the firetruck. That was scary huh.

We took well over 400 pictures. Those digital cameras are great. We can print the ones we want and store the rest for later.

Wew colud not get all the large trees into one picture so we had to put several together. We di manage to get General Sherman, General Grant, and Centinal into one picture. When you back up far enough to get the whole tree into the picture the people standing by them look like ants. It is a very humbleing experiance.

Yellowstone is a beautiful place, or at leats it used to be. I hate to say this but it really was kinda dissapointing. Olny because of the fires though. I really hate to say that but it is true. They should have planted new trees in the 80's and the forest would have been grown back by now. As their plan goes it will not be grown back in my lifetime. That is sad by anyones account.

I have the disk in my hand an I will try to load some pictures in my gallery. I will try. I have not doen that before.

I hate to get off subject here but I was truely amazed by the size of these trees. You would think I have never seen one.
