Nice house!
Nice car!
Glad you are ok. I know about those heat strokes. They will really get you down. The doctors told me if I had another I could do some scaring. I think I'll take heed and listen now. Besides what would my family do if I croaked on them.
No wonder you are tired you have a pretty good sized yard to mow. You need my 54" rider. Couple pf paths and your done.
I have to go mow in a bit today. It is only 101* now. I think I 'll wait a bit till it cools down. My son hasn't figured out why I keep two riders around here. I keep the old one becuase he can't reach the pedels on the new one yet. LOL

Hey guy's,
That is not my house. It belongs to the friend of mine that has the Cobra Social each year. His 3 door, 8 car garage is larger than my house. And I will try to get some pictures of his Greek Style swimming pool/spa set up when we have the Social next month. Kurt Scott has had some pictures of the social on Cobra Country a couple of years, but I don't know if he is coming this year or not.
Tru,
That is the Cobra. Only difference is it isn't the replica and they made them for NASCAR. The registry shows only 29 built exactly like mine, and only 12 or 13 of them are still around plus a few that are junkers. The registry broke everything down right to the type of seat covers I had. I still have the original tires on it and it has 40, 878 miles on it. And it is a big block.

It is an excellent car Ron. You really have a gem there.
I have Cobra Torino emblems I was going to use on my car, but I decided to leave the emblems off for right now.
I say again, that is a great car!

Tru,
Thanks for the compliment. So far I have had 5 magazines come do write ups on it. Also have had several offers to buy it. I should part it out. I had an offer of $7,600 for just the ram air and air cleaner that it uses as they are an odd size and Ford for some reason won't let them make a reproduction of that NASCAR one I guess. Anyway it got me into the Fairlane Club of America after their president spent 5 hours going over it with his little book of notes. And the Historical License Plates don't hurt any either.
If I could afford a house like Jay's, I would be out buying every original Cobra and GT-40 that I could find for sale. The back yard is huge and goes right down to the Sacramento River, and that is where we park all the cars and have the barbecue during the get together. At least a dozen boats will stop every year to look and the sheriff's patrol will stop each trip by and look at diffent cars. Hopefully I will be over all these latest set backs by August 6th and will be able to go.
Is your cara GT or a Cobra?

hello, everyone, from cool Colorado!
I am at the "John Wagner Public Library" in Lake City, colo. Elev. approx. 8600'. Population, oh, around 300 year round....
We had a nice flight up to colorado Springs, then a 4 1/2 hour drive to Lake city. Got in Sunday evening. It isn't as cool as I would like, or as cool as it has been, the 19 years I've been coming here. oh well. It is not 100*.
The clock is ticking..... 30 minutes on the computer, per day, max. I haven't had a chance to get by here, before today.
The guys are out fishing, the Gunnison River, I believe. Maybe the 'east fork of the gunnison'. I don't know. Girls are reading books here in the library with me. The most exciting activity here in LC is putt putt. So far, my group has played 4 times.
I have only played twice, tho'. We've even broken down into teams, just to change it up a bit. Mom/son/daughter. Dad/son/daughter. You get the drift. I'll check in next week, hopefully, more than just once!! Ron, uh dad, move over, Trularin! I really really like that car!!!
Ron, I hope you're feeling better. Since mowing wipes you out so badly, then why not hire some boys to mow it?? It's terrible you get so ill!
Hey, Steve. glad ya'll's fireworks were nice. We had a nice show here in this little town. Even 2 fighter jets flew over. Very nice. Oh yes. the other main social event is Bingo once a week. The only time I play bingo is up here.
Well, gonna go for now. Check out a couple of other threads before my timer goes off!!
Keep it goin' guys!! you can do it!
Haven't seen any of the old bunch in a long long time.
Have a great week!
Kristen

Aloha everyone,
I just returned from a nice 30th anniversary trip that included a cruise on the
Baltic Sea and concluded with a three day stay in London before returning home.
Was at Trafalger Square when the Brits got the nod for the 2012 Olympics, and
enjoyed the impressive fly by with the 9 jets smoking red, white, and blue.
Glad we left when we did because we were sitting in the airport when the bombs
went off in London. The day before we were cruising all over in the double
decker busses. Timing is everything! Very interesting how people drive there-
Hawaii drivers wouldn't last long. My hat is off to the bus drivers!
Didn't see any Cobras anywhere, and very few sports cars - gas @ app $8/gal.
Glad to see this thread is still easing along - nice to try to catch up after being
gone for 3 + weeks.
I'm looking forward to a cruise to the North Shore this weekend in the Cobra,
weather permitting. Rained all day today. It has been a month so I'm over due!
Y'all take care -

Kristen,
Nice to see you posting again and I hope the vacaton is really great. Sounds like a fun place. As for the mowing I have tried three times to hire people to mow this upper lot.
to hot, to much work, I just don't want to work that long, etc. I even called two lawn maintenance places and they both wimped out once they saw the knee high star thistle. I fellin the garage three days ago and almost broke my back so I am barlely able to walk, let alone get out and do any work. If it gets bad enough the city can mow it.
Tru,
Are you sure that you want that gas guzzling car. The best I ever got on it was almost 11.3 MPG and that was with a hard tail wind and coasting down every hill as I was really trying to see just how much I could get. I am seriously thinking of putting both of the cars up for sale as I just don't know what is going to happen to me in the next month or so.

Squandering my inheritance????????
DAD!!!
I certainly hope you will allow me the option if you should ever sell.
Well, it is fuel system day here at the Trularin Farm. Brent's engine is gone and we are moving all kids of things around so we can have more fun in the cobra.

Quit it. You should not talk like that. I swear I am going to send some "Depends" if you keep it up.
If I had that stuff growing in my yard and nothing I could find would kill I swear I would use gasoline. I know that is not enviornmentally friendly but I would not give a hoot. I would find some way to kill it even if it ment setting it on fire! And I am dead serious!

Steve,
At this time I can only sit up about 30 minutes a day and I have to break that up into shorter segments. I believe the back is starting to get a little better but the pain is so intense at times I am not sure. However, since there is no one that seems to want to work around here, I may try to get the mowers out today and see if I can get some of that stuff down. The star thistle isn't in the yards thank God. But that upper lot is now covered with it and it is about 8" high and has to be cut. Lawns need mowed because of the burrs. Every time my little dogs go out, I spend 20 minutes picking all the burrs off of them and that is really a miserable experience for all of us. I have to lay in the floor to do it and they don't like it, so we snarl at each other the whole time. As for the car stuff, I have cancelled all my plans for that for the rest of the year and dropped out of two of the clubs. If Iam able to driveby August 6th, I may try to make the annual Cobra Social, but am not planning on it at this time.

Just slow down and get some rest. Sometimes that will make the world of difference.
Tru:
Yea I was upset with something else when I worte that all is better now though.
Ok. One more time about my dog deal and then it is over. The county came out and reported to my neighbor that they had recieved a complaint about the barking. The fine is $2,500.00 per day and she would recieve only one notice, that one.
The dog was banned to the garage for life!. I noticed it was so quiet around here I was starting to worry. I peeked over the fence and all three dogs were barking like hell. Only thing is no noise was coming out. She had them "debarked" or what ever you call it. They can still bark and you can still hear them. only the volume is much lower. All is well. When I spoke to her she said she was haveing trouble sleeping because of the dog barking so she decided to have the surgery done on all three dogs.
FYI: NO, it was not me that called the county. I had no part in it at all. That is the truth so help me. I think it was the neighbor on the other side as they barked at his driveway all day long. But no more.

Ron, misery loves company.
I trashed my knee coming down the Stairs from Hell at my house the day after Christmas.
It's still swollen, purple, and hurts like hell.
And I still walk funny. Nerve damage.
I make it through the day by taking an assortment of anti-inflammatories, aspirin, and Ibuprofen.
They help, but my doctors still tell me to "hurry up and wait."
For that I pay $45???
Hang in there, Brudda.

UT,
Sorry to hear about your knee and hope that it will soon be ok. My back can't be fixed without surgery and since I can't afford that I have to just live with the pain and hope for a few days that I will be able to get around and do things. I am going to try again to find one of these lawn outfits that advertise around here and see if they will mow this place for me. I tried yesterday and couldn't even get the mower out of the shed before I was ready to just lay down from the pain. Darn this getting old and falling apart. But at least the pain lets me know that I am still alive.

Tru,
Body parts are worth big money now days. I am trying to figure out if I have any that are still in good enough shape to sell in order to have some others repaired.

Earl,
I have been trying to find some one to hire to mow that upper lot but none of the people around here want to do anything more than 5 minutes. The last person that I hired, I furnished the mower and gas and he made two trips around the lot and came in and said he was done and wanted paid. He never even brought the mower back down to the shed and I told him I had hired him to mow the lot, not make two trips around it. He left mad.
